1:20 One suggestion I had would be, instead of making a top 10 list of your favorite books, can you make a top 100? The 100-11 spots don't have to be numbered like in the NYT list, and I think that will give us much more recommendations and understanding what you enjoy and look for in books 💕

Thank you, Kayla for being a constant in our lives and being willing to share yourself and your family.

I joined booktube in 2018, and have been watching you since then, but moved channels in 2020 when I felt overwhelmed with the community and have never been able to look back in the same way - except for watching you. I look forward to your videos each week; when I need to sit with a project for a long time I queue up one of your videos, old or new. when I feel burnout from my own videos or need to be inspired, I watch you, because I love your editing and the way you talk about books and sort out your thoughts. I adore how you don’t put books down or when you don’t like a book, you don’t put down the people who love them. you find a person for every book, even if it didn’t work out for you, and as a lifelong reader and former bookseller and maybe someday future librarian (?), it makes me so happy to see you share that love in that way. sincerely, thank you so much for sharing videos with us, and happy ten years! 💗

It's so crazy that it has been 10 years! I am happy to have been following you since pretty much day 1 - and it's cool to see how your content and channel has evolved over the decade, but you have always stayed true to you! This was such a walk down memory lane, obviously for you, but also for me as a viewer reflecting on my own life at the same time (and my channel/bookternet journey since I started my channel in late 2013, though quit in 2018 or so). Looking forward to seeing what you do in year 11!

I got back into reading in 2020 as a way to occupy myself during lockdown. I pretty immediately found your videos and have never looked back! There are other booktubers I’ve watched off and on, but I have never stopped watching your videos. They always feel so creative and engaging, and the way you talk about books make me feel excited about reading. In fact, your videos have largely impacted my reading over these last 4 years. I want to say that at least 50% of the 250-ish books I’ve read in that time have been books I heard you talk about. I don’t comment super often, but this feels like an appropriate video to speak up and to say thank you so much for the wonderful content you provide us with 😊

congratulations!! your channel has been one of the only ones over the past decade that i’ve consistently watched even when i was too busy/depressed/ill/etc. to watch much of anything and has provided me with so much enjoyment over the years💕 *cracks knuckles* now for the questions 🗒️✍🏻 1. your graphic design background and experience obviously influences your content (thumbnail series, title cards/ graphics/etc, designing book covers, etc.) but do you think it influences your content in other ways we might not even realize? 2. you come up so many unique concepts and ideas that often turn into trends on booktube. what other sources besides booktube/youtube do you get your inspiration from? i’m sure a lot of your ideas come from just being a creative person but i’m curious to know if there are unexpected places you get inspiration from? (e.g. you’re on a hike and see an interesting tree and decide to do a vlog reading books with like sentient botany lol) 3. you’ve gotten to know your own reading taste pretty well over the years. are there any subjects/topics you have a hard line about not reading but if certain authors wrote it, you’d be willing to try it? if so, which authors? 4. out of all the books you’ve read since you’ve been on booktube, what 10 do you think have had the biggest impact or influence on you? 5. and lastly since i’ve been around here a long ass time (2014 baby!!), am i misremembering or did you go to a event one time and one time only? i have the vaguest memory of you going to one? 😭and you saying it was the first event type thing you were ever going to (and you never did again lol)? i feel like i remember you saying you were only going because it was kind of nearby and another reason i can’t remember lol. i also feel like maybe there was another canadian booktuber there but i can’t remember who. or am i just making this all up? (v possible!) love you bestie!! 🫶 (as a friend!)

36:30 - honestly, this is one of the reasons I love your channel despite generally having different book preferences. We're the same age and the childhood series kept me watching when most of my youtube time went away.

I’m not sure why this stands out to me so much but I definitely remember finding your channel back when you would do unboxings with Liam for Page Habit and maybe Owlcrate Jr. Happy 10 years of Booktube!! 🎉🎉

Congrats on 10 years! I have not been following you for all of that time, but this still made me emotional😂 Looking forward to all the celebratory content!

happy 10 years 🎉 I've been here since 2017. I think one of the first videos I saw on booktube was the 7 ways to organize your bookshelves and then binged all of your videos and have been watching ever since. ❤

I absolutely love how much you plan for your channel! It seriously does not go unnoticed the amount of effort you put into your videos
