It's really impressive because a lot of people that are supremely talented can't teach it to other people. They just get it intrinsically and can't explain to other people how they do it because they just do it without fully understanding how they do it. It really shows how much she understands her craft that she can teach others.

She’s very thoughtful in what she tells them. Not that “this is wrong” or even “this is better” in a critical way. She gives them fingering advice and tips on how to produce a better sound, or deal with balance issues, but in a very encouraging way. She really knows her instrument. Don't let talent alone fool you. She has amazing technique and she's taken the time to problem solve and find ways to minimize the areas that could slow her down. She's practiced a lot to get where she is. You can do it boys.
@cetterus Жыл бұрын
Thank you, thank you, thank you! It is not all work tho, some of it is play. But most of all you can reduce it to invested time and concentration. I get sick listening to all this "talent" prostution. People praise elusive and conveniently non measurable "talent" because it is easier to get appraisal and money for something that nobody is competent to determine. So appraisal and money are for grabs to those who impose "talent" talk most aggressively. A LOT of people can play violin at the highest level. It just takes A LOT of time and determination.
@jplayzow Жыл бұрын
@@cetterusSome people are just able to learn things quicker, which is what talent boils down to. You can measure their learning speed / normal speed for a more qauntifiable percentage of talent but it misses the point. Talent can only be really used with the practice to back it. She works her ass off and is able to think in different frames to overcome the struggles the boys faced. Those together are what people usually call a prodigy. She deserves to be recognized for her work And her talents.
@yoshiwawa Жыл бұрын
@@cetterusIsn't it a talent in itself to have the patience and determination to put down as much work and keep the focus? I think that's a big differentiator between child prodigies and the rest of us. They have the capability to do it, also at a very young age.
@cetterus Жыл бұрын
@@yoshiwawa 1. No, it isn't talent. It is character and way of raising the child. Talent is something else. 2. The rest of what you said- I completely agree. Plus, I would ad, if it takes patience and "determination" maybe it isn't the right thing for a child to spend the time. Kids need to play. @mountainkimmie5 ай бұрын
There's a moment in one of her performances on KZbin where she gets this beatific smile on her face while she is playing with the orchestra. It's not the smile of "I'm crushing this," it's the smile of pure delight and joy in the music itself as she reaches that point where it is flowing perfectly through her. I've seen this same sweet smile on one or two other beloved musicians as they reach a peak moment in their playing and it is a beautiful thing. It shows that she truly loves what she is doing and is not just the product of a forced program to turn her into a master player. Of course I don't know her life and I'm sure there is a great deal of pressure on her and a lot of sacrifices necessary to achieve her level of mastery, but I am reassured and entranced by the signs that she loves the music itself. Her comment about letting the melody come out seems to suggest this as well.

The pressure from an Asian teacher, no matter their age, gender, appearance or even mood, just pure terrifying when they start demonstrate something and ask you to repeat.

The great thing about this is that Brett amd Eddy are so seriously taking her advice and repect her for her talent and her skill, while Chloe is so pateint with them and gives them legitamate advice and help with their playing. I felt like I just watched the most wholesome music lesson ever, and I probably have. Everybody was trying to lift eachother up and be better, and it was funny because it was just so good

Cat Alatorre i wish i could have had that. My teacher just made me play the same song over and over without giving any advice. I never knew what the problem was so i just gave up...

@@brandonlee8123 If you're teacher doesn't give you advice and makes you play the same piece over and over again, then you should probably find another teacher. She/He's likely not a very good teacher.
