This is all because of the lift in vikramaditya. There is a chance though it is the usage of Tejas naval or Tejas mk2 naval( won't consider due to payload and range limitations).

Fun fact: These jets were forced upon us as part of the Admiral Gorshkov a.k.a INS Vikramaditya deal. This carrier was in a disastrous condition and the ruskis hoodwinked us into thinking we were getting a “paisa vasool” carrier In fact the hidden costs on this ballooned to billions of dollars and with its limited capabilities this became a major headache and an embarrassment for us. There were charges of massive corruption and honey traps of our babus in this deal. Just lookup Admiral Gorshkov deal and you’ll know ✌️🙏

But that time we also had no other option other then buying from Russia and i know russia take advantages of our problems through out the history. First they late the delivery then increase the price after that we get trash, then we refittied it our selfs with western ,indian and Israeli tech.

मिग-29 k और upg में better AESA/PESA radar upgrad होना , better saturn engines के साथ, EW warfare capability ,extended missile range (air to air missiles + air to ground) होने से इसकी लाइफ 10 साल तक बढ़ जाएगी। अच्छा हुआ की हमने खुद की aircraft carrier develop की और उसे ऑपरेट होने वाले fighter जेट्स भी develop कर ही लेंगे। दूसरे देशों के जंक मशीनरी खरीदने से अच्छा है खुद का होना। बाकी मिग को रिटायर कर Rafale M एक अच्छी आफर है।

It is best jet in it's category that is why was found useful on high Himalayan ranges against Chinese. Mig29k in it's own league no other fighter bomber like rafaleM or f18sh can be compared against mog29k.

The Yak 38 (which had it's first flight in 1971) was an attempt by the soviets to recreate the success of the British harrier jump jet (first flight in 1967). The harrier was much more successful V/STOL platform and was at the time the only foreign designed aircraft to be inducted in the US Marine Corps as the AV-8B. The JSF program (that culminated to the introduction of the F-35) was aiming to replace F-16 of the USAF , the F/A18s of the US NAVY and the AV-8Bs of the marine crop with a single fifth generation platform. Therefore the F-35B that is in use with the Marine Corp was inspired from the Harrier and was literally a 5th gen replacement for the V/STOL harrier.

We should still focus on improving the serviceability rate of this aircraft. Serviceability rate kharab hai 10 saalo se bol k nahi chalega kyuki isko abhi retire nahi kiya jaiga. We can focus on implementing better logistics so that the spares which are usually replaced are always on stock and can be provided as per need basis

The costs of maintaining a aircraft carrier group for India probably out weigh by a large measure the benefits of the same. India should rather concentrate on diesel electric with AIP/SSN/SSBN submarines, and other battle ships like destroyers etc.

​​@@xyz-iz2kf I guess the purpose of the IN is to protect the littoral waters of India, strike/counter strike any enemy (China and Pakistan for now) and safeguard trade routes and intelligence gathering among others. An aircraft carrier is not a single defense vessel like a submarine and has multiple vessels accompanying it in its deployment. Aircraft carriers are a floating extension of its country from.where you can launch fighter aircrafts/helicopters. India's aircraft carrier(s) are sitting ducks in the Malacca Straits. The Chinese Navy has to only protect its east coast which runs north south. I think the AGNI 6 can possibly hit the east coast of China from mainland India. Sea Guardian and P81 are good additions to our arsenal.
