My thoughts exactly. I've been browsing for a house in Toronto and it's more like 800K to 1 mil. And thats obviously not downtown toronto, just greater Toronto area. Getting tempted to just buy a half mil apartment in the city, but even those are few and far in between.

@@TheVidKid3000 I would buy an apartment if I was both rich and didn’t have a family. Otherwise apartments suck. Found great houses in the gta, but I’m not sure what to choose. I personally use Zillow, because other sites are very tacky

1. There is no house for 500k 2. Your 100k is taxed 3. Cost of living is high 4. The food you eat has chemicals so you gotta invest in better natural products thus more expensive 5. Car a year on avg costs 12k-15k 6. You need a good down-payment 7. Hard to find a job in Toronto 8. Hard to keep a job in Toronto 9. If anything happens to your job while you take a mortgage, you better pray 10. Cold AF more than half of the year 11. Just move to US for x3 salary and cheaper everything

I am a full G class driver with 3 year experience and my insurance costs more than my New car installment. I have a Honda Civic 440/month instalment, 465/m insurance and 170 fuel, 60-70$/month maintenance (including swapping tires twice a year, 4 oil changes, 1 tune-up and filter changes, allignment, etc.) total 1150$ month for a civic. yeah you can have a 500k 1bhk apartment outside of Toronto. no mention of house utilities, clothes, furniture, etc.

People in Toronto take on huge debts just to buy a house and some they don’t t even make that much I don’t know how so one with a minimum wage job is able to buy a 1 million dollar house people just go into huge huge bad debt keep working all by our life . Toronto and Vancouver is the worst place to buy a house personally if you aren’t all ready making lots of money. I would just start a business you will be much better of in the long run . Like in Montreal you can buy apartment rentals.

Better to live in your country. In Canada you can not save a single peny. Just earn and spend and at the end of the year your bank balance is very less . You can earn more in your country.

For everyone saying you can't find housing for $500,000 you're part of the problem. There's plenty of housing for under $500,000... they may be older apartments in less desirable neighbourhoods but it's still a foot in the homeowner door. Also $100/month is too much to spend on phone... I make more than $100k/yr and I spend $16/month. No data, 100 minutes. There's wifi everywhere, you really dont need an expensive phone plan in the city.
