Yourcarangel, Thanks for your videos. Very good information on car buying and inspecting. I actually made a car purchase based on your halo list. I bought me a Lexus es300 that only had 43k miles. Very good quality car. I appreciate all the tips you have gave me. It really helped and I'm very grateful. Thanks again and look forward to more videos!!

spending A couple of hours following your advice can save a used car buyer thousands of dollars. Compare that to trying to save money clipping coupons and buying things on sale, you’ll save maybe $20. Car flipping and used car dealerships rob people of many thousands on every sale. Thanks Car Angel!

It’s a 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. And yes, Scotty warns against any Highlander that is a Hybrid. The Crossover is absolutely amazing. It’s been a joy to own the last 2 years. Scotty claims that the PSD ( power splitting device he calls the alternator) or battery back fail regularly on Toyota Hybrids. I just can’t find the evidence of such unreliability.

Car Angel is a kind humble man, I do wish he would focus on the attributes of American cars, there are some good models out there. What people don't understand is content only represents about 40% of the total cost of the vehicle, research and development is a very significant expense. When you buy foreign that money goes to the country where the vehicle is manufactured. I will continue to support the American worker/engineer.
@terbennett

Being that there are more import brand cars made in the US than domestic brand cars, I guess you'll be driving Toyotas and Hondas too, since most of the ones sold here are not just assembled here, but the majority of their parts contents are made here as well. The same holds true for most Subarus and Nissans as well. In fact, they support more US jobs than GM, Ford or Chevy.

Thanks. How to purchase used Related to: Private owner seems ideal in terms of purchase and maintenance logs, etc But any lender requires a dealer purchase Now what? And timing belt service is a real issue assigned to used cars at 100,000. Any used dealer proclaims no knowledge of this service unless listed on the car fax So many buyers are now further faced with an automatic cost to address belt, water pump, gaskets, tensioner, other required belt maintenance At $1,000. Or easily more Unless negotiated as part of purchase... aka. Good luck. And worse The service may have been done, but no one knows until part of motor is removed. And therefore a new owner may have incurred a cost that could and should have been avoided with seller auction other “used car handlers” having a clue as to cars that do not have timing chains and therefore require belt service between x and x miles Just a mixed bag of nonsense when buying used from a dealer and no or little detail on any shared car fax or specified maintenance $$$$$$$$$$$

Never been in shop except for fluid changes and tires. Best all around vehicle I have ever owned. My crystal ball at that time was very accurate. It can also see that I will have no problems In the future.
