20:42 “prize is annuity payable at $5000 per year for 20 years” yikers
@mabus428 күн бұрын
I really don't remember this from back in the day... Also, back in the 80s, who was going to drop two bucks a minute for a minuscule shot at prize. I can see why this didn't last.

Wink, quick question, would u ever do another hosting game show gig if u were asked? Like if they brought back Trivial Pursuit or Headline Chasers or your most famous, Tic Tac Dough? Huge fan of yours btw.

11:30 A faint "Try Question Number 5" is heard, before Wink is seen saying it.

$2 a minute. That probably got expensive quick. And then you have different states with different gaming regulations, possibly making the game illegal in some states. Not to mention the seeming lack of transparency with players being unable to see how their opponents did, even after the contest. So it makes sense why it didn't last.

You know I don’t want to judge anybody here, but it’s a little suspicious when their “$100,000 prize” is an annuity paid out $5000 a year for 20 years

Rick Dees had something similar with Monopoly. Have fun finding that, much less uploading that.

I remember that infomercial from back in late summer 1990, only it didn’t offer $100,000, it only offered $25,000.

Thanks Wink! This feels like a half hour Trivial Pursuit Playbreak! 😊

This is very hard to believe Wink Martindale did an infomercial, that's crazy.

You got to work with Charlie O’Donnell on this infomercial after having worked together on the Headline Chasers pilot!

they worked with each other on Tic Tac Dough from 1981-1985.

I never cared for the "phone-in" game shows.
@bryanloveseighties7 күн бұрын
I personally think those phone-in game shows are a pretty fun idea. Unfortunately, I only participated in one of them. GSN's Inquizition in 1999. I beat all three of my opponents that day to win $250. These days, that's chump change, but it was a fortune back in the depression days. I wish the three major networks would bring their late morning game show blocks back and likewise, the basic cable channels that had game show blocks, too. That way, the latter group of channels can bring back their phone in segments they showed during commercial breaks and give me another chance to win big chunks of cash.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/oonYcpaeqZuSaaMsi=rffOexqX4oVhzAnu I certainly recognize the theme music as it was used on Academic Bowl in the 90's on ITV in San Diego, CA! Clark Anthony was the host of the program.
