not everyone can afford ethical and sustainable clothing. find me a shop that is ethical, sustainable, caters towards plus size people, AND low income people can buy from.

Hi Marla I absolutely lobe your clothing line!!! Especially your Darcie dress I was wondering if you guys would consider making your brand more size inclusive specifically adding plus sizes. Personally I wear a size 20 in clothing and I would love to support your brand and rock the brand’s dresses especially. I know it is probably a big ask but i thought I would try anyway. I love how your brand is such high quality but also are pieces that are on the modest side. Either way I would love to keep supporting your brand anyway I can!!!

I work at Aritzia and you possibly could’ve gotten a different material for the biker shorts!! We have like 5 different materials if not more lol. Also babaton and Wilfred are the most expensive brands. TNA and Sunday best is gonna be a little more affordable and also has good staple basics

But labour needs to be a consideration when comparing prices as it is a key factor in setting price but also ethics

100% something that really should have been discussed…
@emilywoodall8759
@emilywoodall8759 2 жыл бұрын
@@hannahfennell5597 I agree because materials really don't cost much in comparison to labour generally. Compensation for labour determines profit so consumers should expect and be willing to pay higher prices if they value higher compensation for the workers (which usually isn't even enough)
@taylorgirard6626
@taylorgirard6626 2 жыл бұрын
this is true but, none of aritzia’s labor is certified meaning there is no way to ensure that their workers are being treated or paid fairly
@emilywoodall8759
@emilywoodall8759 2 жыл бұрын
@@taylorgirard6626 Oh interesting! That's good to know, thanks! I think consumers should demand better, we shouldn't be demanding cheaper so it is comparable to companies that sell fast fashion but better labour conditions and wages for prices such as Aritzia's

you also need to take into account how low income/plus size people are excluded from ethical and sustainable clothing stores.

oh geeeeez, I'm working towards being a school librarian some day and I HAVE the first "librarian" sweater you got from target haha 😂 but I got it from either forever 21 or H&M some time ago for $10 and I love it, just a lil heavy but it's good quality 👏

Hi Marla, great video. I think Target does pretty good too. Next time you do one of these videos, would you consider telling us what the label says as far as the fibers and what % cotton, wool, rayon, spandex...etc. Thanks for the great videos, I love your channel.

I think a really big issue is that you are not discussing the traceability of said garments? Why is target so cheap? Are their items made in ethical factories.....? I'd rather pay higher prices than support child labour or unsafe working conditions. Also-- the quality of the fabric... Is it OKEO-Tex certified? Recycled fibres? Aritzia will display that traceability.... does Target do the same....? I'd like to see you do a comparison on other factors besides price-- just because something is cheaper doesn't mean its better. Look at the breakdown as for why something costs 88 bucks

That’s not what the video was about tho, she just wants to show people that you can get cute clothes at places you might not expect them to be at like Target/Walmart which is great for teens who can’t afford much but still want to be trendy. Sometimes a kid just wants to be like everyone else. I think she’s awesome for making a vid like this.
