To be brutally honest, I enjoy handbags so much!! Not sure I’m able to keep a really small collection. 😅 It’s too easy for me to accumulate too many and then feel overwhelmed. It’s a pattern I fall into regularly with handbags specifically - which is why I call them my krpyonite! 😂 Typically, I will decide to let something go if a) I have a very similar style that serves the same purpose b) after using it a while, I discover some quirks about the bag that I don’t love which makes me reach for it less (I believe in using my stuff so I don’t like anything just sitting around) or c) if a friend or family member mentions how much they love a bag of mine, I may gift it to them bc I love seeing their excitement. I also enjoy doing giveaways to this wonderful community as a thank you for the support. Speaking of, I will be choosing another bag or two to do a giveaway soon. xx

I do think that traveling can be the exception to the rule. It's not just a purchase but also a souvenir of that trip. I frequently buy a piece of jewelry when I'm on a special trip because it has more longevity than say a t-shirt with the name of someplace on it. This month has been epic fail month for me, but it happens! Time to reset.

It struck me though about how your budget conscious soul deals with making luxury purchases after stepping back from the corporate world. Girllll! I have had the same exact thought run through my head several times in the past few years!!!! You’re not alone. 😂 Ignore the hype and do what works best for you. Maybe give rid of one and see how you feel - don’t do it at the same time. Also, I noticed the more I use my bags, the easier it is for me to decide if they’re keepers or not. So maybe use your B and K a bit more this year and then see. But I do not blame you for what you’re feeling!!!

@Lutifah, wow.. sounds like a wonderful collection ! I always think it is nice to keep what you love and use. If you're not loving or using your pieces, then it's a good idea to downsize. Just wait to get a fair price for them and ideally when the market is better, it's a hard time to sell at the moment x

Thank you for the 100 day update! I like these "check in" videos because I think that demonstrates your accountability for the "goals" or principles you set up for yourself. Motivates me to talk about my own goals with my friends so that i can hold myself accountable. btw - for sephora sale event, if you happen to try the tacha tinted lip balm with SPF, I would like to see your feedback! Hi Hannah! Thank you for the updates❤ I think as long as you are happy with the decisions, it’s totally fine to let something go. As for the DeMellier tote bag, I would suggest you wait till the bag is back in stock in the store so that you can go and really see it in person. Sometimes it can be different to see something online than to see it in person😅 Hope this helps😊

I would love to hear your thoughts about following: re-selling our bags (new or pre-loved) means often to loose quite a fraction of the price we paid in the beginning (for example I bought a pre-loved chanel 19, want to sell it know and will get 70% of the initial price I paid, because of the provision...). I sold a pre-loved Chanel 2 months after I bought it. Lost 30% of what I paid. It’s inevitable. If you don’t love it, get rid of it sooner.

I agree with the one in one out rule, If I don't sell the bags, I usually give them to my sister in law, who at the moment is still young in her career and my nephew who is one, so it makes me feel good to know that she appreciates the luxury items I give her.

For the Demellier: perhaps stick with the midi, as that particular style is unique and show stopping. The larger one defeats that purpose, and I'd also wait for a color that you love. The strap *is* awkward for that bag. But I love that you're continuing to be thoughtful about down-sizing! I, myself, haven't purchased a luxury bag in 2 years but did, however, purchase a pre-loved Senreve Maestra I'm not thrilled about. I may sell and grab a Tumi backpack I've had my eye on instead. I have found that for my work commute, backpacks have been serving me better than my shoulder bags and totes as of late.

I have the Polene neuf mini in chalk and I love it, even if it’s not practical. I like the Demellier tote but I heard a KZbinr saying it was too rigid, specially when using public transports. I have the Polene Cyme tote, which has a similar shape and love it too. I try to follow the same rule, 1 in, 1 out and resist impulsive shopping 😄. Love your videos. Corinne.

After you left your job did your life style change, so that you can’t use what you did? After retirement, I found very few opportunities to wear all my bags and clothing, since I now spend a lot of time at home. I still have the urge to buy new , but I try to curb it, since I have so few places to wear it.

Great question! I worked from home these past few years so my wardrobe and what I wear/use hasn’t really changed much. I still wear everything when I go out - brunch with friends, dinner dates with hubby, everyday errands, school meetups for kids… you name it!! I got rid of a lot of my old business attire years ago when I switched industries and didn’t need the suits, high heels, pencil skirts etc anymore! There is one bag in particular that I have no use for now bc it’s a laptop bag so I may be giving it away. Other than that, same old, same old! 😉

People talk about cuts and blisters and long breakin periods and then turnaround and say they’re so cute and comfy! I won’t do it. 😂 I will try to do a shoe collection video before the summer. Absolutely! No forcing! 👍 I always say I’d never want to feel regret for letting something go or feel tempted to repurchase something I let go once. So far, luckily, every time I’ve let go of something, I have always felt so free and light. But I take my time with making the decision. Never rush. 😉

The strap on the Demellier is for emergencies only, imho. It doesn’t look good and it doesn’t function well either. I keep it tucked unless I really need both my hands suddenly.

How do you keep track of what you’re thinking of buying and when the 30 days are up?

Well if it’s on my list, I don’t make myself wait 30 days. For example, I’m on the lookout for a denim jacket and some flowy trousers. If I find them, I’m not subjecting them to the 30/30 rule. The rule I created for myself is really for unplanned purchases to reduce impulsive shopping 😢 so in those cases if I see something, I take a photo or if it’s online, I take a screenshot. It’s date stamped so it’s very easy to go back and see how many days it has been. Hope that helps!
