Smith, the bone at the start is actually for you to make the second water source by making a 2 block deep well and place the water on top, when you bonemeal the bottom block, the falling water at the bottom will become a water block. :)

At the start, you only have 1 bucket of water. With two water sources, you can have infinite water. :)

But with gold you can get water from piglins? And after some exploration and mining, you can get enough to make a cauldron. And you can get more bonemeal in the nether.

Random tip: You can dupe water by getting water bottle from a water source and placing the water bottle in the cauldron. Repeat this and get the water from the cauldron by using a bucket

Hey Smith, on day 46 when you were trying to spawn mobs, the reason none spawned was because the entire floor of your house in slabs except for the edges. So, nothing could spawn in your house except on the ring around it, and that most likely where the zombie spawned.

Curse of Vanishing is OP in Hardcore because it drops enchant costs by A LOT. Also, your base was all slabs, it doesn't matter how dark it is, no mobs will spawn. That 1 zombie probably spawned on a crafting table

Hey pat, you could've used extra string and sticks and fished out of the water in your garden area to get better drops possibly. If you get lucky you can fish an awesome bow or fishing rod, and you can have more food because minecraft physics are weird

Note: If you are below Y:62 phantoms will not spawn. If you go above Y:63 then they will. Learned that playing a lot of Skyblock. Its why I build the main level at Y:60 plus I like the sky view of light and dark instead of always being light even if you look down at Y:60 when you look towards void you actually see darkness even during the day.

I don't remember what you need to make it, but a stonecutter will save you a ton of blocks that have special variations like the blackstone, it's 1 stone per block sometimes instead of 4 stone for 1 brick block when you craft it

I tried this map myself in 1.20 version and guess what happened? I built a nether portal, went into the nether and when I came back to the overworld, I came back from some random porrtal which was like 200 blocks away from my own portal. These 100 day challenges are so much easier as long as the nether is normal. You can literally survive without getting out to the overworld: food, wood, exp, gold, all these trades, soooo... You need to get rid of normal nethers in such challenges :)

"This is big, but we need to cut it *now*, because mobs can definitely spawn up there." (5:48) False. Mobs cannot spawn on leaves. The mobs you see in trees would have gotten there by climbing or falling. It's in the game's code that they cannot spawn on transparent blocks like leaves or glass.
