You were not kidding, they sound great. I would of loved to have that kit as a child.

Me, too! Thanks for watching.

I probably would have bought it for the cymbals as well. Cymbals are always an adventure when buying used. Drums in my experience can always be made to sound passable no matter how poorly made. The shells cleaned up nice! My first drum set didn't look or sound that good. Always enjoy watching you restore these sets. A little drum history never hurts either.

Thank you! You're right about the cymbals--inexpensive kits which come with cymbals almost always have terrible cymbal sounds. Thanks for watching!

I finally finished the video and that was worth finishing to the end. As I said I am working on selling my old Pearl World Series kit and I would be pleased with the same outcome that you had. I look forward to seeing your next episode.

@@christhedrummerkimball No problem. Thanks for the video, I just bought a cheap O Starcaster drum set, I'm gonna try to make it useable. This is good inspiration.

Chris I do the same thing. Buy them clean them up and replace anything needed and resell them. Only way I can make any extra money. Plus it’s therapeutic. Should be able to get 225 for that set.

I've found around here it's hard to make any kind of profit, so I just do it for my youtube channel. You're right about it being therapeutic, though, I really do enjoy it, thanks for watching!

Wonderful video!! I pray the recipient of the set has a full recovery. By the way, my brother has the same set in blue. With decent heads these drums rock!!

they sounded and looked great. were they buying it for their grandfather?

I'd have to go back and watch it again--I don't remember who they were buying it for...:)

You didn't mention the crappy bass head to them??
@christhedrummerkimball3 жыл бұрын
Actually, I forgot... However, it ended up sounding absolutely fine, and with the protective plastic reinforcing pad I put on I think it will last just fine. There are a lot of single-ply heads people are using now, and have used for many years, that seem to do the job. Adding a new bass drum head would have increased the price of the kit by 15 - 20% and I was trying to keep the cost down as much as possible.
