Hi. I took an ASL class in college 50 yrs ago. I've had a couple impaired friends along the way, but have forgotten most of what I had. Thank you for helping me reconnect. I truly appreciate your help.

LOVE this format. One thing I like is a brief delay between the word and the sign so I can try to sign it first myself. I guess the opposite would be the sign without the word(s) and see if I recognize it. That could be an interesting variation on this video is to do it both ways. I've been looking for a quick "vocab test" video (or videos) to confirm what I have learned. Thanks!

Glad you liked it! Yes, I always liked the idea of covering up the signs and just watching the words at the bottom to see if you can sign it without seeing it, or the opposite. Being able to pause, slow it down or jump to a specific sign is nice too. We would love to implement some more intuitive tools like this maybe in the form of an app someday.

I currently have a job with autistic kids who would sometimes learn signs to communicate and one of the kids can't hear at all. That got me interested in learning sign and I hope I could learn some more of it

I must have learned two different sign language. One about "what" was the time i put my palm up flat (like wall) and swipe one finger down for "what". And there another one is old too. But i don't remember which one it was. I was doing the opposite all weong. Thank you for clearing up with me.

what like what you are describing and also you can do what by shrugging your shoulders with both open 5 hands palm up and going back and forth. so 2 signs for what.

Definitely sign it the way you see it in your Deaf community. ASL has many regional signs, so learning from one source, especially one foreign to your area, will throw you off going into conversations with the community. Online ASL dictionaries are a great way to see sign variations.
