Fact about Raikou, it has never had a proper role in the Pokemon anime. Minus the movies, it only appears in Pokemon Chronicles, as a robot in Hoenn, and in Piplup's dream in Sinnoh. This fact makes me really mad, because every other Johto legendary has made at least one actual appearance in the anime series.

They 100% are! They are a type of rhinoceros beetle, and one of the largest (hence the naming). I'm fairly certain this is what the hercules part of heracross is referencing as not the actual mythical hero. (But I guess in a way it also references that because the hercules beetles are named after the hero as well as "herculean" which is in reference to the hero; so it's more of what heracross is based off references the figure)

Great video again, Hoops. Some pronunciation stuff you may find interesting though. Cú Síth is Gaelic and síth is actually pronounced as "shee". This is because an i after s makes the sh sound, the i is accented and the th is silent. As for Porygon, it is more accurate to say that what we call the "Japanese R" is more pronounced as an L/R hybrid sound, so NoA had a choice in how to localize it. They likely picked R because it made the name sound cooler in English and it still was a clear allusion to polygons.

The pronunciation point is a misconception. Is not that we "pronounce L sounds like R sounds" rather the sound itself is in a middle point of both sounds (unlike in English where there are 2 sounds clearly discernible. In Japanese the however, the "r" sound has a medium intensity on itself so it can be taken as both or either). Some people (in Japan) might pronounce the "r" sounds stronger (making them sound like an English "r sound") while some other people may pronounce the "r" sounds softer (resulting in something similar to English "l sound") even if they are from the same area. For instance; two people might see this kanji (力) (chikara) and one of them might pronounce it as "chi ka _ra_ " while the other person might pronounce it as "chi ka _la_ " and both pronunciations are equally valid. Think about how some Americans pronounce "what" as "who at" while some others might pronounce it as "wat" and both are equally valid, aren't they? Additionally, while the actual insect (Heracles beetle) might have gotten its name as an inspiration from the mythological character (due to its proportional strength and the character's strength being really similar) the most probable reason as to why it (Heracros) has a Bug/Fighting type is because of how the insect itself is seen in Japan. Japanese children either hunt or buy those beetles and raise them to be able to battle their friends (or in tournaments) that I think I could describe as "insect sumo matches". kic-update.com/en/whatup/beetles-sumo-competition-kabuto-mushi-sumo-taikai-%E3%82%AB%E3%83%96%E3%83%88%E8%99%AB%E7%9B%B8%E6%92%B2%E5%A4%A7%E4%BC%9A/ www.tofugu.com/japan/pet-beetles-in-japan/

I would just like to add a random fact about the Pokémon Giraffarig. The original “Two Headed” design stems from the oldest version of the movie “DrDolittle” (From the 40’s-50’s I don’t know the exact year it was made) There’s an “Animal” in that movie that was a “Two Headed Lama” with basically the identically same design so that MAY have been where the Pokémon team got the initial inspiration for Giraffarig.

The reason the Horsea line has Dragon as their species category is because the Japanese word for seahorse, koryu, literally means "young dragon." Culturally, they believed that seahorses were baby dragons. There is also a group of seahorses called sea dragons, and Kinda in particular is based on the Leafy Sea Dragon.
