Nice ride, beautiful views along the way, will you be taking on the 30% climb in the near future definitely a lung buster of a climb. The most i have climbed is 25% for just over 1.2km that about finished me off. Don't know if i want to take on 30% great videos.

Thank you Terry, yes the 30% climb is hard knots pass so will leave it for next summer, Wrynose does have 25% sections on it but are very short, the tiny bit I walked up is near vertical but the rest was ok 😊

How does 105 make it easier.. is it specifically on that bike due to the gear slipping issues you had. Or is it because it’s lighter etc etc I’ve a sora road bike and use 11 34… and could fit 11 40 if I ever fit the wolf tooth.

Think it’s a bit of both the slipping plus more gears so can get the right cadence when spinning up, plus was only a 32 on Claris now have 34 which helps. Also my fitness and weight loss probably helped too, gear changing seems to be a lot smoother and the hydraulic brakes help of a lot on descending felt more in control.

Have you thought about adding a larger cassette at the back like and 11-40 which would make it much easier to get up the hills?
@LakeDistrictcyclist2 жыл бұрын
The Orbea gain maximum cassette is 11-34 so I was told in shop so that’s what I put on. Put I find this fine. Thank you for watching 😊

@@LakeDistrictcyclist I don't have my e-bike yet so I can't really comment but I'd be amazed if you couldn't fit a GRX 11-40 the same as all the other videos on KZbin. The 105 medium derailleur is long enough to support a 40-tooth cassette even though it's only rated for 34 teeth so if you wanted to do it I'm pretty sure you could take the old cassette off and pop a new one on with no issues. The only thing I would check out when I get mine is to make sure there is enough room for the new cassette and the sensor which drives the motor but I bet an 11-40 is the same width or depth (depends on your perspective I guess) on the flywheel as the 11-32 and 11-34 so no reason it won't work. Still, if it ain't broke, don't fix it so if you're happy with your current setup pedal on!

Good effort, Great to see you challenging yourself. I think that last bit can be overcome mentally from you as its the one thing to overcome. You are fit enough now to push on up to the top. Get your head right and you can do this no probs. How far is the ride one way to the top?

Thank you mate, just other 2 miles when I started the big climb, my start point was 11 miles away though 1500ft of climbing in total

What gearing did you use at the hardest parts?
@LakeDistrictcyclist2 жыл бұрын
Hi was on bottom ring at front and in the 34 at the back, it’s a hard climb, plus I still need to lose 2 stone or so 😊
