I'm sure I read the source directly at one point. There's a draft of Zoro with Buggy crew but Oda was talking specifically about how he was going to introduce Zoro. Oda made Zoro with Ryuma from Wanted in mind so there's no way he was ever supposed to be a background character.

Zoro's better than that. He respected Luffy vs Ussop and only needed Ussop to admit that he was in the wrong. He didn't make a fuss about Robin rejoining despite her betrayal because he understood she only pushed them away because she was under extreme duress, just like Sanji. Robin and Sanji didn't choose to betray the crew, they believed it was the only way to protect the crew and readily admitted that they made a mistake. Zoro only required Ussop to apologize because Ussop has a bad habit of lying to himself. Zoro wouldn't be able to trust him as long as he was hiding from his own betrayal. On WCI Luffy made it clear he was allowing Sanji to hurt him, knowing he was in agony the whole time. Zoro's smart enough to know that Sanji wouldn't attack Luffy under normal circumstances and he'd know that Luffy was trying to get Sanji to open up.

I still dont believe the whole "the first half of one piece happened in 4 months" thing. Mainly because of Water Sevens conflicts between luffy and ussop, and robin and the straw hats. Ussop explicitly mentions that he has "known luffy for a long time" which would be a ridiculous statement for somebody (which according to these timeline theories) who has only met luffy over three weeks ago. Robin would be even crazier, considering she would have only known the crew for over two weeks max. What I find most difficult to justify is that this theory is based on the moon cycles which are seen in chapters, but anybody who paid attention in the ohara flashback can see that there are 6 "moons" circling around the one piece world, so unless they have somehow figured out the speed at which these moons orbit the OP earth, the position of the sun etc etc it's pretty crazy to base a timeline on that, especially since it would make no narrative sense. Not to mention that Oda often isnt consistent with things like measurements, laws of physics and even the moon phases (up until skypeia) as he states himself. The man is a master of worldbuilding and intricate detail but this timeline theory narratively ruins a lot which is one thing that he has stayed airtight on imo.

Considering what’s happening with Bonney and Kuma’s backstory, I find it hard to believe he actually came up with her and the supernovas at the last second. I feel like that has to be a misinterpretation because there’s no way Oda was able to make up a handful of characters some of which have now drastically impacted the story.
