That 72 vette in the last guys garage really really boils me up from the inside out to the point I have steam coming out of my ears looking like the first ever steam engine (or a more appropriate example for the current Time period smoking like Russias only air craft carrier) that he was given a white with t tops 73 sting Ray 4 speed Muncie car (I may be a couple years off on the actual true year model I was young but was either a 73 or 76 either way she was the only owner) from one of the members of the church he was pastor at at the time and he gave it back to the 80 year old lady that was the only owner of the car she bought new in late 1972. But said her son or grandkids might want it but they had nothing to do with her but he wouldn’t feel right accepting such an expensive gift from a member of the church, but my dad was the kind that never took payment from any church he ever was the pastor of ad even when he got injured at work and had to go On disability in 2002 if a church would write him a check for being the pastor on a Sunday morning he would always sign the check and put in the memo on it it was his tithes and offering and would put it back in the offering plate at Sunday evenings church service bc he said always “I preach because that’s what God Called me to do and not to make money from preaching that God would provide any needs that our family would have but we didn’t even have water at our house for so many years when I was a kid and we would go get 6 55 gallon plastic drums of water each week from one of members at the church bc we didn’t have county or city water we had a well on property but it was contaminated because our houses water supply from the underground streams that fed into the well was heavily contaminated from a landfill that was up the road from us and contained extremely high levels of mercury and lead even the lake close to our house had signs to NOT EAT ANY FISH CAUGHT FROM THE LAKE OR ANY STREAMS TO OR FROM THE LAKE THEY ARE DEADLY FROM THE LEVELS OF THE WATER SUPPLY BEING CONTAMINATED. Then she wound up giving the vette to a grandson of hers like 2 years before she passed away and he was my age but had a pretty severe issue with cocaine and he traded the vette to his dealer to settle a $700 debt if the dealer threw him an extra $250 worth of coke 2 weeks after she signed the title over to him and she was at the hospital bc she had been diagnosed with cancer and he came to the hospital to visit her and she was being told that she would be discharged that next morning bright and early and she said “Kacie I want to ride in the vette one last time before Jesus takes me to heaven, I know it’s your car now honey but will you please be the one to pick me up in the car and take me home honey please?” I know the exact words she used bc I was there with my dad visiting her bc like I said my dad was her preacher…and her grandson was high at the time and he got caught by mom grabbing her purse and sliding it under the little feeding table they have that rolls under the beds At hospitals and he got caught getting 2 $100 dollar bills out of her wallet in her purse and every piece of jewelry she had In her pocket book bc he knew the little change purse in her pocket book was where she kept her gold as diamonds and 3 strings of pearls she would wear every Sunday to church. And she as confronted by my dad about it and the grandson said “what do you guys all expect me to do I am broke and I have done used all of the rest of the coke he gave me after I settled my debt to him signing over nannys stingray” and it broke her heart and upset her so bad that she had a massive heart attack with all of us in the room and almost died but the crash team got there and got her stabilized but sadly she never actually recovered and within 2 Months if even that dad was having to do one final sermon for her as her pastor at her funeral. I have told him for years he should of just been thankful and accepted it and I promise I never would of wound up talking him out of the car lol it would be nice sitting beside my 1968 amc rambler 2 door hardtop and our 1957 Chevy stepside pickup!!! But that car wound up being confiscated in a drug bust down there less than 6 months later and was sold at a police auction and less than a Month later the guy that won it at the auction Wrapped it around a telephone pole trying to be a race car driver in The mountains in Helen Georgia.
