@staleoats78798 ай бұрын
@@HyphonIn just Copenhagen you can make a day or two of walking the city, specifically Nyhavn, Frederik’s Church, Rundetaarn, Rosenborg + Amalienborg. Across the harbor you can get to Christiania, a freetown with little police surveillance, full of street art and weed, just don’t take pictures while there lol. There’s also a lovely botanical garden and the national gallery is incredible if you like that kind of thing. The meat packing district is full of restaurants to explore too! The city is jam packed of amazing things to experience.

Thank you Kwoowkerman and Kwoowkerwoman for reviewing my home city's top cuisine!! I haven't lived there for a while and always been kinda broke, so I haven't tried most of these, but this video has made me really excited to do that one day! One recommendation I have among the cultural staples in Danish cooking, is either one of the main traditional Danish Christmas dishes, 'Flæskesteg' or its variation, 'Flæskestegssandwich'. It's pork roast with the rind left on the cut, crackled, and served with boiled potatos, caramelized potatos and pickled red cabbage. Either of these are heavenly in my humble opinion, so I sincerely hope you get around to trying it yourself at some point :))

Aaaah as a Dutch person who has lived in Copenhagen for 5 years now, you have really managed to hit up the right bakeries and gotten the 'right' pastries. My partner and I have been keeping a list of best coffee places and bakeries in town, and both Hart and Andersen&Maillard are in the top 5 easily!! 😍 If you ever return, the burgers from Kristinedal in the innercity are my go to, better than Gasoline Grill imo. Oh, and the big random building with the 'vape' on top, is actually a waste-to-energy plant, where they effeciently and safely change residual waste into heating and electricity. Plus they put a skislope and climbing wall on it, so it is usable outside of just having to look at it. So yeah, not the prettiest, but a really cool and green concept! 🙈
@betwixttales7 ай бұрын
Amager Bakke is designed by the famous danish architect, Bjarke Ingels. When planning it, he wanted to have the chimney make "smoke rings", and was in talk with the inventor Peter Madsen about helping with creating the technology that would make it possible. Aaaand then Madsen committed what is probably the most notorious murder in danish history, so that cooperation stop before the technology was finished.

Denmark has decent weed as well. - It isn’t “legal” but we safe havens in certain parts of Denmark. I am from Sweden but my half brother used to go there all the time. - In Sweden that is jail time or heavy fines and confiscated tech, phones, computers, 8-12 months usually.

Honestly, I'd be curious to see your trip to Poland at some point! The pastries here are wonderful as well, so I have a feeling you'd find yourself a new favorite dessert lol
@Hera4Ever18 ай бұрын
I'd actually declare (ever so boldly) that food in Poland compared to Denmark is much better. The quality in general is on a different level and price-wise much more attractive as a whole. The only food I find the Danish truly excel at are pastries and that's about it.
@ndexer6 ай бұрын
@@Hera4Ever1 As a dane that has a polish girlfriend and been to poland for about 15 times, "I'd actually declare (ever so boldly) that food in Poland compared to Denmark is much better." Is indeed a bold claim, because i think it massively untrue, many danish resturaunts use local sourced ingredients, ecological products etc, the whole new nordic cuisine is BASED on sustainable and seasonal produced food. I've been to Krakow, Warzawa, Gdansk etc and the only aspect i consider Poland better at in terms of food is asian food specifically Vietnamese and Taiwanese, and Vegetarian and Vegan options are much more abundant in Poland compared to Denmark weirdly enough. Polish pastry is chewy and mushy, and Polish cake is on the savoury / cheesy side, which i don't personally like. Is Poland cheaper? Yes, about 40%/50% cheaper to eat out in Poland, but Poland's food scene is not "on a different level" most good Polish resturants are hidden away in alleys, the popular ones near the main squares and popular roads are all tourist traps.

Damn this is pretty cool! Have been living in Copenhagen for 2 years now and still haven't tried most of these. The thing that has blown me away so far are the cheesecake at Hart bakery. Unfortunately Copenhagen is very expensive, but it has some good vibes. The summer is a good time to visit. While the whole of Europe is having heat waves its the perfect weather here.
@Hera4Ever18 ай бұрын
If you're into cheesecake, I'd recommend the eatery and bakery Seks. It was created by a Polish couple and they make the best cheesecake you will ever try in your life. I am not kidding. Otherwise, the prices in Copenhagen are what often bring me to a screeching halt when wanting to try different things. It's just way too much for what there is to ofter. I'd much rather spend that money in my home country where I believe the food is better quality and worth the price.

And plus the sun never shines during winther.

Yes, finally Denmark showing its great food…. Perfect. I hope you enjoy the “smørrebrød” But the smørrebrød you had, was not the “authentic “ ones you should’ve tried… that’s a shame. I wish you would visit Jutland some day and then I would show you the perfect food aswell. Cause those two parts of Denmark is quite different. You should try “pølsemix” aswell… 😃 perfect. (The Way you ate the herring, I never tried. It’s very different from how we eat it. We put a few pieces on a slice of ryebread (rugbrød) and then some “karrysalat” (directly translated its curry salad) and a few slices of egg.. thats a totally different experience. So come back some day and you’ll get a tour the “Jyde” way…. (Jutland is “Jylland” so us living there are called jyder)… See you 😃👋🏻 (come at summertime 😉
