During his analysis episodes he likes to use Js9s2c as a flop example quite a bit. Why that board? I think it’s like semi-connected where you can’t flop the straight nuts and leaves you a lot of space to cap your opponent and fight for the pot no matter what two cards you have.

I think not counting the PLO bomb pots also includes not counting the time taken to do the PLO bomb pots. For example, if you make $500 in 5hr, but $300 of that was in PLO and the PLO took 1 hour, then you made $200 in 4 hours in No Limit, for $50/hr.

What IS double-bomb-pot PLO 5 cards anyway?? Does the winner have to stand up and croak? Geez when I go to the casino I want to play some cards not slots

"watch while I handle my business/ watch with the hands not ticking" This is an example of homophony and assonance, both of which are popular in contemporary rap music. In the first instance, "watch" means "observe." Later, "watch" refers to a timepiece typically worn on the wrist. This unexpected double meaning may elicit a sense of pleasant surprise from listeners. Moreover, "business" and "ticking" do not share the masculine end rhyme typical to most rap lyrics, e.g. "there's never been a greater since the burial of Jesus / fuck around and catch all the venereal diseases." Instead, here the final phonemes differ substantially, but the internal vowel sounds match, creating a loose assonant rhyme. This adds to the listener's sense that the lyrics are subverting formal expectations. In short, intro song is a banger.

One thing I continually question is the statement: "When a recreational player donks heads up, they are just heavily weighted toward bullshit." Examples of holdings being middle pair, small flush draws, etc. I'm curious why I have such a different view of this. In my home games and at my local casino, this is almost ALWAYS value. The recreational players I play against regularly are so heavily weighted toward 2nd and 3rd sets, two pair, and made straights. They usually even do it with flushes on monotone boards. I would consider my style tight aggressive. I'm wondering if they have some sort of read on me that's making them do this. I'm not likely to call a donk bet. Generally player dependent fold or raise. If I don't have a read, though, I'm generally folding, and usually correctly. Is this faulty logic on my part, or do they have a read on me?
@seththomas89664 күн бұрын
2’s full hand- I remember you coaching a similar spot where you bet small to get called by non believing pairs, 3 kings should raise for value, and might even incentivize missed draws to bluff. You didn’t mention this option in your analysis. Curious to know why?

Hey Mark, I have been using your strategies for quite a while now, and they have significantly improved my winrate in the low stakes home games. The all-in river shoves have particularly been profitable, and i had been able to get the players off their thin value hands quite frequently. But recently a new player has joined our games, and things just dont seem to work against him. This player cold calls all my 3-bets pre-flop; he would barrel the turn for almost a pot-sized bet OOP and continue the aggression on future streets. The bluffs just dont work against him, as he would call me down with any of his marginal value hands even when there is a front door flush on the turn . I have tried to exploit this tendency by charging him for all my value hands, and i do. But it is difficult to come by value hands and im not sure if my marginal made hands are good against this player, and given that he is inelastic with his second pairs and top pair bad kickers, i dont feel comfortable putting all the chips in yet. I was hoping you could provide some feedback. Once again, thank you for the great content. I am looking forward to more such videos from you.

Easy, Just don’t bluff that one player. Those kind of players are only value. Play the player and adjust.

Marc you gotta stop feeling bad and explaining yourself about the PLO bomb pots. Obviously I could easily be wrong, but it seems like you are letting the haters stress you out a little when you have to break down your logic behind adding it to your win rate. Haters are gonna hate no matter what, it makes no sense. You are an absolute monster and I have gained SO much knowledge from your videos. Hands down the best content I’ve seen in a long time, if ever. Thoroughly entertaining and I am very sad to hear this is the next to last video in the series. I hope you make some more man. I'm actually glad to hear you complaining. I've been on a major downswing for the past several days and it's encouraging to see and hear a pro with the exact same problems. Whenever I get a raisable hand, there's Raising Guy 3-betting me. When I do have a hand, it whiff's in the most creative ways, like I see cards I didn't even know existed in the deck that were created specifically to make sure I have 8% equity. And then when I hit it, they all fold. Unless I have Aces, in which case they get cracked because apparently a 3BB raise from the small blind is an open invitation to a family pot. (True story.) So, please, do complain.
@NeuroticNOOBКүн бұрын
If you are in the small blind and complain about a family pot... there must have been some limping before you raised. So 3 BB is clearly too small size to raise.

You would use the stopwatch on your phone to time your NL sessions. You would pause it during the PLO bomb pots. That way, your recorded time matches your NL time 1 for 1. You would also have to track your bomb pot results separately and take them out at the end of the session, which could be a bit cumbersome. And yes. Yes, this is what the Internet is for. Right here.

question if you had the nut full house on the bomb pot board with Qs full of Js. Why not go all in? you will at least chop and split the pot? If best case scenario he FOLDS and you win it all, still best scenario he calls and you scoop it all cuz he's got nothing up top but think he's got bottom board like you did where you have the full house.
@MatrixCyPoker3 күн бұрын
i said it in once of your previous videos but since you bring it up i will say it here again: In my opinion, you should count DB/BP PLO as well as Jackpots (which you don't) and everything else that contributes to your winnings (rakeback, leaderboards etc). The game you selected to play is not universally the same in the stakes you chose to play and has some rules based on the rake you pay etc. if you were to play in a room with higher rake and bigger BBJackpots or leaderboards then you surely get compensated in regards to the amount of rake you pay. The rake we pay is indeed damaging our winrate and whatever money is thrown at us as a compensation then is part of our winrate. I mean poker is a game with a mathematical approach and if you dismiss your mathematical chances of adding more money to your winrate then you're not getting an accurate Winrate number. Hope this makes sense.
@BradleyT2p23 күн бұрын
So if he wins a $1M BBJ he can claim to make $1,000,000 a year at poker? It's disingenuous because it's not replicable by others.
@MatrixCyPoker2 күн бұрын
@@BradleyT2p2 First of all, you CANNOT win 1M in a BBJ. Secondly, Jackpots are a statistic probability that vary from 1 in 10000 to 1 in 50,000 hands. on average, you will hit 2 BBJ per year if you play 150 hours per month. That's part of your winnings, therefore Winrate.

Feels to me like part of the experiment was “can you play exploitatively at 5/5 forever and never have anyone catch on?” And the answer to that, honestly, seems to be no. For the last ~5 sessions it kinda feels like everyone has your number a bit. (Of course it’s going to be much harder when you’re posting vlogs all the time lol. 1) explain how he’s ever nutted? 2) if we can never run into top of range, don’t have to worry about “saving” cuz he’s never calling 3) a bluff that’s 10% too small is a lot more expensive than a bluff that’s 10% too big 4) if we overbet instead of xr - we minimize fold equity and lose “value” against ak that would always bet fold
