But all were very different & enjoyable characters. Pathaan was a soldier-turned-spy with a sense of humour & enjoyment of life. Jawan was a very different & more serious soldier (not to mention the older badass version with amnesia), and also featured a vigilante cop with a different look & personality for each caper. Dunki was again different... character was from a rural background, and the story was about him helping his friends after his return to civilian life. Personally, I enjoyed all the performances (most of all, Jawan).

How can you miss "Thugs of hindostan"?? Aamir was probably in the best run of films by an Indian actor ever, plus the collaboration with Amitabh Bachchan. An Aamir khan movie was a sure shot blockbuster along with being a good movie. The hype was unreal at that point ( which shows in its first day collection) and the movie was absolute garbage.

Ohhh that was mahabakwas film. It could not sit through for more than 15 mns and I watched it on OTT. Similar was the case with Kaala jisko dekhne ke liye maine theatre mein paise barbaad kiye. Annathe was trash but it was so bad that it was good. Have not seen Darbar yet but from what I heard it is also an average film. Jailer was also not that great. If not for the Villain and the special appearances by certain legends the film did not really pack a punch.

Also they used around 1 hour on silly comedy scenes like lavatory. Also they end the dunki journey in around 20 minutes. Which was high let down. They should have put at least an hour on exploring the journey. The only good scenes were the underwater scene, Vicky koushal, srk slap Anil and tapasi's sudden demise.

We even accidentally ran in some call girls who were roaming there (they couldn't do anything). After that, my friend and I got into a fight over the quality of the movie as he wasn't ready to accept that this time Raju hirani failed. We fought to the point he calls me srk hater ( though I have watched way more srk movies than him, he is just a wannabe fan with minimal knowledge about srk). Brahmastra is quintessential to this topic. Perfect example of a movie that was hyped for years and years, saying it has been made with hardwork of 10 yrs, pushing vfx standards, indian culture, repest and what not. The final product we saw on 9th September 2022, was unbearable and disrespectful. First of all, i was sure bollywood can't pull a movie on this big budget that too on Indian culture which bollywood has roots to, especially the elite writers they have. But i got excited when the trailer dropped 2 months prior to the release, promising great cgi, worl building and what not. Trailer had colourful and beautiful vfx and good music. I could 3ven ignore the live story if it was less in the film (which was not needed even though) but they made a full 2 hr 45 min movie with central them being LOVE and LIGHT. Clearly shows main focus of the director was vfx and cgi exhibition and not the story, screenplay and dialogues. A 5 year old kid would find Brahmastra childish man. Ayan speaking on respecting Indian culture felt like some NRI who just entered Indian for the first time has been told to write an essay on India.

It was decent attempt. Theatre experience was good. I think we are becoming too harsh on it. yes, the dialogues were crap and whole love story seems boring, unless some plot twist is going to be reveled on 2nd part. In India, it would take time to create movies like dark knight, lord of the ring. Brahmastra was quite better than many of the previous attempts (Even better than kalki), it made me excited about the 2nd part and arc of "Dev". Sadly, it went to "thanda basta" now.

If you know about sci fi films in india, then you can see that there is a less chance of scifi film being sucessful or blockbuster as it is made with huge budget. You can take example of 2.0 , a sci-fi film which was actually good but some people doesn't like it whatever it collected not that much it needed. And also people in india doesn't like scifi films they watch scifi films mainly because of stars or directors . If rajmouli comes with a sci-fi film , it will surely be a blockbuster because of expectations from director. Also some people doesn't understand indian sci-fi films . For eg - a Malayalam film called gaganachari which is a post apocalyptic drama was released and normal audience doesn't like it because of its scifi story but critics and sci-fi fans liked it . dunki was decent one time watch, despite not being hirani's best. despite average to mixed response ,dunki made 400-450 cr ww which is a massive no. for the movie which failed to live upto the expectation, unlike other biggies - manish sharma's tiger 3, siddharth anand's fighter ,nolan's tenet,james wan's aquaman 2 & shankar's indian 2. Problem with dunki would have been long production delays ,making during covid & outdated story written by hirani not taking note of audience watching movies in ott during covid. Hirani also wouldn't have got the time to rewrite & change story to current trends. I still root for hirani to come back with a solid story & collab again with ranbir or aamir again or do something interesting with likes of rajkumar rao & vicky kaushal . Zero was the most disappointing srk movie according to me in terms of every aspect than dunki.

I agree that Dunki was Hirani's weakest work but if you judge it as a movie instead of a Hirani movie, it's a great watch with genuine laughs and cry. It has amazing music, genuinely funny scenes and it will make you cry. One of the factors due to which it did not work as great as 3 Idiots or Munna bhai is that the topic was not relatable for the audience.

One thing about Dunki which I still can't get over is that how whenever there was a supporting cast for that matter even Vicky Kaushal, the story was actually dark and anything could happen like how those three people from the village also died but whenever it came to 4 main lead it will turn into Priyadarshan kinda comedy where they can do whatever they want and the king of plot armour will save their ass in whatever situation with a quirky bgm playing

Excellent Video. The Goat Life is far far better & much more deserving than Laapata Ladies IMO. It Deserved to win as the Best Film, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor also the best BGM. A Hard Hitting film which based on Real incident that Deserves Appreciation.

Indeed. Zero was OK in patches but many of the last 10 - 12 SRK films never excited me enough to give them a try at theatre. I went crazy when Raees was announced and the teaser was out lekin pata nahin kyun release se pehle josh thanda padh Gaya. The last SRK film (before Jawan) I really enjoyed and still enjoy was Chennai Express. Uske baad saari films bekar ya not so exciting ventures thi. Fan ko lekar excitement thi lekin wahan bhi release se pehle laga something is not right with it. Dilwale se waise bhi koi ummeed nahin thi. Pathaan bhi OK OK hi thi. Jawan was kick - ass. Regular masala potboiler yet very entertaining. Dunki ke trailer ne sab kuch bayan kar diya tha that it is going to be a dud. It was such a damp squib itself.
