Fun fact about the SOS notes in the Divine Beast music. Ruta, Naboris, and Rudania’s morse code start at about the same time, yet Medoh’s starts later. Revali’s pride prevented him from calling for help until the very last moment.

Isn’t it also a lot more frantic compared to the others? Most of them are practically sedate. It’s like they’re saying “I have arrived, I have assessed the situation, I cannot handle it on my own, I need backup, please send help”. Revali’s was more “I have arrived, I tried to handle it on my own, that was a mistake, I am about to die, please send help”.

I think my favorite detail about the SOS in the music is *where* in the songs they play. Mipha's plays almost immediately like she realized she was in trouble right off the bat. Urbosa's plays intermittently like she is sending out a call for help whenever she manages to disengage. Daruk's is delayed and quiet like he is almost ashamed to call for help. Revali's comes the latest into his song and almost sounds panicked in pace.
@chaos4654

Ooh. I had a thought. I wonder if Daruk's could also imply how strained he was... concentrating on using his shield and surviving, so his SOS message might've been the equivalent of physically wheezing out a call for help when out of breath.

My favorite bit of lore is that even after millennia, Zelda’s Lullaby theme from Ocarina of Time is still used to represent the royal family. To the point where in the throne room of Hyrule Castle the triforce sculpture above the throne is ringed by three musical measures with the notes for the lullaby transcribed out. Not all the notes are correct, but after 10,000 years and completely divorced from its original context, it’s entirely possible that the builders of Hyrule Castle didn’t know that it was a musical staff to begin with.

28:07 To me, the Seven Gerudo Heroines being the Seven Sages would mean that the Eighth Heroine separated from the main group is Link, the Hero of Time - especially since the statues are all holding the Sword that Seals the Darkness, while the Sages and Link were responsible for sealing Ganon. It’s really neat that they were all depicted as women, because the statues were probably carved by the all-female Gerudo tribe, who would assume that any heroes would also be female once their actual identities were lost to time.

Solving some sort of puzzle in the shrine in order to recieve a spirit orb (Wisdom) B. Challenge you by making it difficult to reach the shrine to begin with and just give you the spirit orb (Courage) And C. Obtain a spirit orb by passing a trial of strength in combat (Power)

Using the Gerudo themselves as an example, there the implication that Groose is an ancestor to the Gerudo. . I always had a theory that the time slowing down was Link's Champion ability. Revali, Urbosa, Mipha, and Daruk all have their special abilities but seemingly Link does not have such a special ability other than he is the Master Swords chosen. Link, as many of his past incarnations of being heroes of time, is in all respects THE hero of time. He is a hero and he can literally control time. Link's ability is his own legacy of the past internalized.

I am surprised my favorite story detail isn't mentioned. It involves the building knowledge of the men destroying, but later furnishing Link's house. Due to the Calamity, general knowledge about how to build houses was lost. As a result the new houses that have show models in Hateno, and are later used in Tarry Town, have a very cubic design. It is a simple and easily reproducible design, almost entirely made of wood. At the same time, they are destroying one of the last stone houses that could teach them the old ways of constuction.

The blocks are made to easily fit together for quick assembly with optional compartments, likely an idea to help Hylians re-settle Hyrule through quick pop-up houses. They fit together like puzzle pieces. Imagine if in Tears Of The Kingdom that we are allowed to use Link's new Ultrahand and Fuse abilities to quickly assemble homes, perhaps even entire small villages, or maybe even customize Link's own new home, using these pieces.

one other thing i noticed is that Link's house, it's floor plan doesn't match it's outside there are parts sealed off by a wall. which leads to his chimney being useless. there is another house in Hateno that shares it's model too. so you can see what it's floor plan technically should have been. did Bolson screw Link out of area's in the house he bought? or was the previous owner an idiot.
@SeymourDisapproves
@SeymourDisapproves Жыл бұрын
I think that carpenters are probably just looking for ways to quickly and cheaply give people homes in a post-Calamity world where settling efforts in most places have been knocked back to square one. Hyrule might even be due for a baby boom once Ganon is gone for good, meaning that there would be way more people who need homes in the near-future and not many places to put them without a bunch of Bolson-esque starter homes. The ease with which something can be made doesn't denote a lack of skill on the maker's part, and the primarily wooden, building block, ready-made nature of Bolson homes is a lot more space efficient and much easier to mass-produce than bigger stone houses like the one Link bought.

Really depressing, but the S.O.S. signals are different per champion. Mipha is frantic and panicked, Revali doesn't send the signal for a while after the dungeon theme starts... not to mention Mipha says she was killed before she could even fight back so her SOS was instantaneous up starting up the beast or was happening while she was dying.
@Karalora

The SOS message in the Divine Beasts' background music is probably my favorite hidden detail from the BotW soundtrack. But unlike many, I don't take it to be a literal last distress call from the Champions or anything like that. For that to be the case, we would have to assume not only that the background music is diegetic (i.e. literally existing in the fictional world as we the audience hear it), but that Hyrule somehow developed an identical telegraphy code to Earth's Morse code, and that really pushes the boundaries of believability. I think it's just a cool audio Easter egg that gives the music an extra, almost subliminal edge to make it that much more unsettling.
@codster279

Maybe it’s some sort of Divine Beast feature. To call SOS to the other Divine Beasts. I believe from what we see in the game and Aoc the Champions control the Divine Beast with their mind or some way they’re connected to it so they could’ve done this while fighting. It could also be an ongoing signal the Divine Beasts are calling out after they detected their pilots have fallen or the way that the Champions “talk” to the Divine Beast they might have their own souls.

I think it's just an artistic expression do underline the respective champions. Revali's "morse code" being the last one sent, underlining his pride. I don't think it's an actual morse code being sent by the Divine Beast. It's just a nice attention to detail for the player to get immersed.
@Karalora
@Karalora Жыл бұрын
@@UltimateTobi Or Revali's could be last because the best place in the music to slip it in came later than the others, and the fact that it seems to mirror his character could be a happy coincidence. It feels a little weird that the soundtrack would single out just one of them in that way when for the most part the Champions are all handled very even-handedly by the narrative.

There are a bunch of subliminal things hidden in the music throughout the series. In the divine beasts, for example, you have a twisted version of the champion’s song that adds in more layers and becomes more recognizable with every terminal you activate. Another example: the Zora royals all have their names hidden in their songs.

Regarding the hearing the gods thing, I think the reason he thought Hylians couldn't do it anymore is due to their being nobody with a connection to the Sacred Realm. It was likely an ability belonging to the Goddess clan of which Hylia seems to have been the leader of (different from the Three Goddesses who made Hyrule and the triforce). It would make sense if the Goddess clan lives in the sacred realm so the ability could come from there. Zelda's ability could be due to her being a reincarnation of Hylia and therefore having an intrinsic connection to the sacred realm. Also, the eighth heroine could be a reference to a Link Between Worlds where there was the seven sages, and then you had Zelda separately. This is despite how in OoT, Zelda was the seventh sage and their leader. Therefore it could be about her original role as the seventh sage having changed to being an eighth person within those two games.

I know this is old but a quick correction - Hylia was/is a diety. She was/is a Goddess. When she was with that clan, she was still a goddess. Demise I think it can be argued was possibly a deity (as he was pretty much unkillable and they had to seal him inside of the master sword to even get rid of him and he *still* lives on through the reincarnation of his hatred which is Ganondorf). I say was/is in regards to Hylia as it's kind of debated on whether she actually is still a Goddess or not since she gave up her godhood to be born into the world as Zelda prior to Skyward Sword).

That point of there being no Gerudo king since Ganondorf is really interesting. Makes you wonder if it was a conscious choice by the Gerudo, or whether a higher power intervened after Ganondorf managed to cause so much destruction. Maybe after OoT, Zelda (or whoever took over the ruling of Hyrule) ordered the Gerudo to end the tradition? Or maybe Hylia herself intervened, stopping male Gerudos from being born completely, as a precaution and/or as punishment? Maybe Ganon still being alive is stopping some kind of reincarnation cycle, preventing the next Gerudo king from being born? Or maybe (and this is a total, baseless stretch just because it's fun to theorise) the "Male Gerudos are always destined to be king" legend was some kind of manipulative story Ganon, Kotake and Koume started among their people to get him into power? Ganondorf was absolutely a manipulator, so it wouldn't be out of character.

One thing I wanted to point out about the Seven Heroine Statues being the sages, the Eighth one might be referring to Link. Given that the statues sword is further away, that could imply it being the Master Sword, the blade the Hero does not keep all the time. The reason I came to this theoretical conclusion is because in Skyward Sword, Link is the one that "creates" the Master Sword.. and if memory serves, in both ALttP and Twilight Princess, there are references to a Sage that helped in creating the Master Sword itself, thus titling Link as a Sage. But that's just a lil' random thought I had, could just be a theory in and of itself and only that.

In particular a couple obscure Link to the Past references. 1) When the Master Sword is returned at the end, the text says something like, “the master sword sleeps forever”. 2) In the original manual for ALTTP, there is a reference to a SILVER BOW and arrows, but in the actual game it’s only bow and silver arrows. It may be just a typo, but I remember spending hours scouring every corner of the game to find this silver bow as a kid. Lots of love!
