$100 Luxurious Lobster Roll...and worth it! | Salty's Lobster Shack & Cannoli King @ Vancouver

After visiting the ‪@billandlisa‬ channel and the ‪@DanVsWorld‬ channel, I've developed a craving for those wonderful Italian pastries called Lobster Tails. I got a chance to visit my local Italian Bakery in Vancouver Canada. On this visit, I got to meet Rosa and Sam from Italia Bakery to savor on some crisp and crunchy Lobster Tails (sfogliatelle) and munch on a few Cannolis.
But with all this mention of lobster, how can we end our day with some real lobster in the form of a luxurious Lobster Roll. Lois and I visited Salty's Lobster Shank to try out this delicacy. This wasn't cheap, but certainly tasty! Loaded with lobster sourced from Nova Scotia and smothered with an entire container of Canada's finest sturgeon caviar, the only danger here is developing a taste for this on a regular basis. To accompany our lobster themed lunch were a lobster grilled cheese, seafood crustinis, and a luscious lobster bisque.

Hi Ron, great to hear! The grilled cheese with lobster was a far better deal then that sandwich. I believe it was about 16 or $17 and you can get a combo with a lobster bisque as well for an extra $5. Still relatively high but nothing two outrageous.

Sfogliatelle is filled with ricotta and candied citron. A Lobster Tail has a similar pastry shell, but is longer, and has a vanilla or chocolate whipped cream filling. For me, nothing compares to Sfogliatelle, except, maybe, Panforte (a dense fruitcake.) Enjoying your Vancouver videos; I used to be there often when working on Cruise Ships.

@@TimLeeLetsGo When my son was going to college in New York, we would get them at Veneiro’s. An atmospheric pastry shop with small marble tables and tiny cups of espresso to enjoy with their baked goods.

You have a way Tim to make me envious but that was probably the most envious of all. Ha ha. I mean Mark Wiens does a good job and making me envious. I don't know about you guys 🤪 Let me tell you something. I eat one meal a day and it's usually less than half a pound much of the size of a quarter of a pound maybe some vegetables and a little meat. When I'm really hungry and haven't eaten in 24 hours and see these videos. Ha ha. Plus I weigh 320 lbs. A really nice video!👍 I love Lobster that is my favorite Seafood. Much less rolled up in caviar

@@TimLeeLetsGo yes, I managed to overcome my hunger cravings. That is I can go for long periods of time without eating. Also I am a bit overweight and I have an addiction to junk food. But I love to watch your videos and I love good food and variety. Do you ever watch Mark Wiens?

@@TimLeeLetsGo actually fasting isn't that difficult. Once you overcome the initial hunger cravings it doesn't seem to bother me. It started from my reluctancy to get out of bed and cooking. I live in the mountains and it's so peaceful here that I have become lazy 😜 also trying to lose weight. I used to live in Vegas. So I am familiar with the golden nugget and great buffets like the frontier which is now closed. Okay like I said I love your videos and hospitality and all of the rest of those that travel around the globe for good meals and exotic foods. Best wishes

@@TimLeeLetsGo Seattle China town has been ravaged by both the protests and C19. Lot of places still closed or take out only. lots of Restaurants in Seattle closing for good. East of Seattle, Bellevue etc, where a lot of Asians now reside is faring better. more restaurants are reopening up and i would say life is about 65 % normal. Lots of folks still working from home . can't wait for this to be over .

Well David, you know how it is with caviar (a reference to your otoro video :-)).. Kinda like the $20 caviar/otoro sushi you and your wife had. Actually, I think it works out to about $8 US a bite. The pastries are very good and that was my old neighborhood growing up. It was an Italian neighborhood, so growing up, I lots of great meals a friends' houses...but they were often loud meals. :-D Thanks again!

Looking at the reviews for Salty's , 1/2 of the lobster meat in the lobster rolls was immation lobster/crab. As a foodie very surprised and disappointed you didn't mention this to the viewers

@@TimLeeLetsGo the one I had was 40 percent immitation Pollock mixed in. Look at Google reviews lots of people complain of this. I know times are tough, they can do this just don't call it lobster if you are gonna mix in fake stuff. It tastes alright but don't call it lobster

$100 lobster roll from a food truck 🚛? I would say that was indeed very expensive...even with the caviar on top. It's likened to abt $33 of a portion of what you took on the video. I guess with $100 to splurge, you probably can go to any decent good lobster restaurant and get a similar treat (in an comfortable a/c environment) and perhaps enough change for a cup 🍵 of coffee or drink to go with it. Haha!😆

Hey Ron, it was a nice, one-time, experience :-) I couldn't imagine spending that amount for a sandwich; caviar was nice though...but yeah, it was pricey :-)
