Both your accents sound familiar, but Phi's is a bit more textbook, and Thương's is a bit more ... Southern? How would the difference be described in Southern Vietnamese terms? As a difference in family background? Thanks.

The other channels I started with are Northern accent but I actually wanna learn Southern because I plan to go back to HCMC and I now have friends there. This is why I like SVFF. I have to get used to the pronunciation. The word "thích" for example was a huge surprise. Sounded like "tit" and not "tick" if you sounded it out in English.. did I get that correctly or how do you pronounce thích?

I just has a little ??? about the meaning of "gặp". The translation for gặp is "MEET". The definition of MEET in English is to see and speak to someone for the first time. I have to emphasize on "FOR THE FIRST TIME". If we see each other for the FIRST TIME, we say "It is so glad to meet you". For the second time, it is wrong to use "MEET". We must say "It is so glad to SEE you AGAIN". In Tiếng Việt, is "gặp" always to be used no matter it is the second time, the third time, the fourth time...etc to see someone? I am not finding fault with the translation of "gặp" into English. I just share for what I know about the definition of MEET in English. Maybe I am wrong because English is not my mother language.

Hi Vincent, I am also not a native English speaker, but I know you can use it both ways. You can say : I met him three times already.Or ; I will meet you later today.( already know this person)
