Some interesting excepts from the Taksaka Train Company wikipedia page: The name Taksaka comes from a dragon who killed King Parikesit in the Mahabharata. This train operates in two trips to cover a distance of 512 km in about 6 hours 22 minutes. (means avg speed around 81 km/h) Thanks for watching!

This "Luxury class" train that you guys took is the first gen, it has that 1-1 seat configuration with 170° recline seat, but not completely 180° flat. There is also "Luxury" Gen 2 which has 2-1 seat configuration. The Luxury Gen 1 is available on certain trains from Jakarta to Cirebon, Purwokerto, Jogja, Semarang, and Surabaya. The Luxury Gen 2 is also available on those route, including Bandung, Solo, Madiun, up to Malang. But, yeah, the Luxury gen 1 is superior thanks to the 1-1 configuration privacy seating Regarding the wifi, the KAI (Indonesian Railway Company, let's call them IRC) provides wifi on some trains, but not all trains The Taksaka train feels faster because it has less stops than the last train you guys took, and the train is allowed to do 120 km/h (74 mph), while the other train caps at 100 km/h (62 mph) About the name of the train. Each trains operated by the IRC has its own name with philosophies behind it. The naming system is also good for the passengers to differentiate one train to the other! So they don't get lost and ended up on a wrong train :D Every long-haul trains here has a dining car, so if you feel a bit bored on board you can take a quick walk to the dining car and maybe have some hot chocolate while sitting on a cafe-style seats :D And you mentioned about long haul bus ride. We also have some long haul sleeper buses here! Maybe if want to try them next time. Spoiler: it's cheaper than the luxury class train! :D

They now call this luxury sleeper, the gen 2 is just luxury. This is a lot better than gen 2 even tho you can't get it to 180deg but you can definitely still sleep in it, while gen 2, meh...

for your information, Indonesia also has a big improvement in bus transportation during this year. you can choose a lot of bus operators and each operator serves so many classes from a business class, executive class, super executive and the highest one is sleeper class. it's similar to a capsule hotel. I hope you can try this one, especially the sleeper class.

Yea like I said in the previous video is better right? actually luxury trains are paired with regular trains but, not regular regular trains😂 The train you are riding is included in the priority train such as Taksaka, Argo Lawu, Argo Dwipangga, Argo Bromo Anggrek, and Argo Wilis. more facilities, faster, more comfortable. What you ride is the first generation luxury train, Want to try the second generation? You can try the route from Jakarta to Bandung with Argo Parahyangan. Or do you miss Yogyakarta? You can take Argo Lawu or Argo Dwipangga. Or do you want to go to Surabaya? You can take the Sembrani Train. That's all there is a second generation luxury train. Mantaap👍🏻

I remember 10 years ago Indonesia's rail system was very bad just like in India and Bangladesh, many people were selling at the station and on the train, some were riding on the train I'm not even sure Indonesia's rail system can be nice and tidy, But in 2014 there was a minister of transportation who wanted to change the face of Indonesian railways to be better and more organized, Starting from small things, every station toilet must be clean, if the toilet is not clean then solving other problems is difficult, And until now the Indonesian railway system is getting better day by day

As much I like to agree, this class is not the most luxurious train class in Indonesia, that title goes to the Priority class that runs on weekends on some trains with the same destination and iirc runs regularly on Argo Parahyangan (Jakarta-Bandung)

Nice coverage! Unfortunately for KAI, there's no reason to take the train over an economy class plane between Jakarta-Jogja. The plane is 2-3 hours faster (yes, including trips between airport and respective cities) than this already express train for pretty much the same price if not cheaper. Then again this price was during off season so the train may still end up cheaper than the plane during holidays...
