if the batteries are full as early as 9am, then the whole day time electricity consumption is coming directly from the sun while the evening electricity consumption is from the batteries. therefore the battery capacity should cover mostly the evening consumption. ?
@FinnSnowVlogs9 ай бұрын
Yes correct, daytime electricity comes straight from the panels/inverter

You have to be sure that the inverters are capable to manage inductive electric motors like the swim pool motors they usually pull a lot of current in short time and inductive motors use to kill inverters that aren’t transformer based real quick… just keep in mind 😉

Every year during dry season or summer you would always be worried about forest fire since your house is located in the midst of lust forest vegetation. Its recommended for you to build a high firewall stone fence around your property as well as an indoor water sprinkler. Even if you are abroad or away from your house you can have peace of mind.

I suggest you use WILO pumps that are designed in Germany for your water pressure needs including your pool because they run and controlled by inverters which is very efficient in power consumption and very durable also. Believe me because I worked as an operator/maintenance of that pump for 12 years and it didn't gave me headache for that time being.

We have a similar system here in Australia East Coast. 24KW Solar and 40KWh battery storage. A fully centralized Aircondition with a split system in the Rumpus room that has all the solar system installed. In Summer we don't even turn the aircon in the house off. It runs 24/7 and battery SOC has not been below 48%. Everything runs on the system, including pool/Hot Water/Dishwasher/Fridge/Stove/Hotplate...etc. We don't worry about it anymore. The only thing I might turn off in a really cloudy/rainy day is the Hot Water System as it stores 250ltr of hot water and stays hot for 48hrs easily. the only recommendation I would make is to change the temperature in your Solar room to 24C~25C celsius. Batteries hate heat, no matter what type. Ours like your solar room aircon is set to come on in the morning at 08:00AM and turns off at 20:30PM. All year as in the winter period it might be ON, but doesn't actually do anything due to the Temps. As such it might use 20W for the electronics that monitor. You really shouldn't have to turn off the fridge at all. Same with your aircon as they are very efficient ones the desired temperature has been reached. Our big House aircon is set to 25C celsius in Summer and 24C in winter.

From what I hear, it is ok to drain the batteries to zero IF they are lithium (without long term effect/damage), to make them last longer. Max charge is more important, like do not fully charge them, only up to 80-85%. This will give you the max battery life expectancy from a lithium. Not draining the battery for max life (no less than 50%), only applies to led acid and AGM type batt. P.S., LiFepo4 batt = Li for lithium, Fe for Iron element symbol, and po4 for phosphate.

In San Carlos City up farther north of Dauin, their is a solar farm there. Me and my class went for a visit and learned their ROI was about seven years. A good charge controller will take care of your batteries. You can exlore net metering in the future. Service life of equipments are important. Also support tree planting projects up the mountains which makes possible low water rates. You can explore mini windmills too.

I’ve found the electric bill to be excessive when I used 5 Aircon’s, water heaters, refrigerator, and freezer. if you are using no-frost fridge, dont use time scheduler to turn off those via socket. also, it is smart to have still grid power however it seems like there is no powerlines near the house. that inverter can produce power back to the grid and if you have net metering, you can bank those extra power that your system produces. and in case that there is a prolonged period of rainy season like it is raining 2 weeks straight, you can use banked power on the grid and still have net negative bill.

Excellent video. here in Virginia USA I have the same sized system, just no batteries. it's grid tied, the utility DOES give me credit in KwHours for use in other times of the year if it's cloudy and stormy. Microinverter based system, reliable for longer than large inverters. Sunny day this time of year I can generate 120 KwH. Today, dark and rainy all day, only generated 15 KwH. I DID install it myself, it took a very long time (57 panels on three roofs). the plans were provided by the wholesaler, they had to be engineer reviewed and approved. The permits from the town were not expensive. It was a pain getting the utility to OK the system because it is so massive. I had to accumulate several months of utility bills to convince them that yeah, I can use that much power. It's a silly system, why limit the size of a solar array, what part of the environment does the utility NOT want to protect? The more green power we push out on the grid, the less fossil fuels we need to burn. The system is paid outright, and it has been amazing so far.

Thanks for the video. I’m still a few years from retirement, but I plan to have a solar system installed when we do in 5 years or so. I’ll definitely be interested in the long term reliability of your system when it comes time for us to build. We’re planning to be connected to the grid just in case, but we’d like most of our electricity needs to be met by solar or a backup gas generator. We live in California and the price of electricity is skyrocketing, but investing in solar is also very expensive here and most systems don’t cover all the electricity that the house needs to run, especially if you run air conditioning.

One more reason to add more batteries is the life will be expanded for all the batteries. Your batteries are rated for a certain number of cycles or partial cycles, usually 4,000 for full cycles or 6,000 at from about 80% to 20%, so if you have more capacity your charge and discharge will not be as low a charge and maybe not be a full. Even if fully charged you have more power to use and, will likely have not discharged as deeply and therefore extended the number of cycles you will get from the batteries. BTW I am an electrician and have 40 panels on my home and two inverters. Not quite as big as your system but I have net metering and grid tie so I don't have to worry about battery life.

*That's good just add an extra battery and solar panel in case you need more juice but take into consideration when it's monsoon season where you'll really get a max of 2hrs good sunlight then better have more solar output for an efficient charging time. I'd say 2 hour charging time is already good as you also consume some power in the battery all day and that 2 hour charging time would be stretched to a 5 hour charging time when there's no sunlight because of rain clouds.*
