I thought the same thing. I recently read a book on this topic and it emphasized how good it is for people to listen and say "I love you" every time you feel it. It will never be a waste to repeat it if it is said when it really is meant. The human being is normalized to keep his feelings or feel ashamed when showing them, but the truth is that it should not be this way because the power of the phrase "I love you" can make people very happy. I'm bawling because the first person that came to mind was my best friend that passed away 11/09/21 after losing his battle with depression. Please, PLEASE tell your people you love them. When I was in Cardiff university my girlfriend broke up with me and I was a heartbroken guy. I had one friend named Helen Williams, we were very close although she is 100% gay. On valentines day she called me and said I'm just calling to tell you I love you. Then she took me out for the evening and danced with me. I knew that she just did this not because she fancied me but because of pure love and she did not want to see me feeling lonely and hurt. It helped a lot and I never forgot that kindness. Years later we lost touch but she was a friend I'll never forget - and I would have married her if she had been that way inclined!
