As one of the original folks on the ACE development team way back in OFP/ArmA1 days, it has been over ten years since I loaded up ArmA in multiplayer...but watching this video, out of all others I have seen over the years, makes me want to get back into it! @@drewinsur7321 Heck yeah man! It was a labor of love from a bunch of old Marines that got tired of the early arcade-like shooting (shoot for a mile with no wind or gravity impacts). We were so stoked to learn it was possible to model ballistics, then vehicles and aircraft! It was an awesome experience and I remain amazed how much it has grown over the years, and continues to grow.

@@immunetou2 yeap it made the game waaay more dynamic and exciting, it was a huge thing here in brasil, several project reality fans migrated for a long time to arma 2 just because all the big traction it gave to arma. the most popular mod behind only dayz mod. an for suere still big on arm 3, task force radio and the medical system is so awesome to get the handle of it.

I mean, it is easy to assume a worldwide game is big all over, but to actually hear if even a small piece of your own work has legs, it's a trip! I guess I never really thought about it. We were in the process of porting over to ArmA2 when our group started getting "mature" and people started getting married and drifting apart. So glad the next group picked it up and continued its development. It would have been sad to see it die out given the capabilities it provides...not to mention the off-shoots that spawned from it. Thanks for sharing that brother!

You're so into milsim and currently Arma, I cannot believe you haven't done what 7th Cavalry has done, and created a digital military branch. Everything from basic training, to placing players based on ability into certain "jobs" with a full ranking system. I had a blast experiencing that. Having to show up for training in custom maps and shoot houses and such. You have the community, and the love for milsim. I'm sure dudes would line up to salute you 😁 o7

Question. At the beginning, after the first engagement, why did you decide to split your forces and risk them getting cut off and exposed with no help so far away from the main element? I thought it was a questionable decision when you did it and then noticed that it happened that exact way later on. Just curious what your mindset was for making that decision, besides trying to make a bold move and capitalize on the points.

My only tip would be, patience. I remember when I first got this game I was the only one and had nobody to play with, so the game was super slow. I didn’t really have fun in servers because I was alone, and didn’t want to make any Callouts because I didn’t want to risk saying something wrong, or saying something “cringeworthy” in terms of replicating military-talk 😂 But later on as you start digging into the game and once you start finding solid communities and groups of people to play with, you’ll notice the hours you have on this game go UP!!! Plus the mods. This game has one of the greatest mod selections I’ve ever seen. When I want to some solo time I’d create a scenario of my own with several bots, and use weapon mods to the point where I have, at least, 1000+ weapons, each one customizable. So yea, just be patient, “explore” the game, and the community 👍 I hope you enjoy it as much as I do

Non-military trained opinion here. Karma you do a great job as a CO, your calm under stress, and level headed. You, and the other COs work well together. I am amazed at the lvl of realism of this game play, and the way you guys all play together. Looks like a total blast. I want to join up with you all so bad it burns when I pee! Wait that might be the gonorrhea 🤔 Lmmfao 🤣🤣😂 Keep doing what your all doing, most the chat commenters, seem to be friendlies, but occasionally the seems to be ones who lack the ability to wrap their heads around the scope of the battlefield. a 1-6 that's always pushing for objectives is always loved by the players. Lately it's just been command telling people to hold a hill and of course the AI is just going to keep coming.. Take the gottdamn hill! Otherwise, the longer you hold position, the AI is going to keep throwing things at you that you don't have resources to to fight. Always keep moving forward

If you're looking for how to learn how to play in a milsim setting, you can have a look at Dslyecxi's TTP3 or if you join a unit or one of Karma's operations and tell the guys that you're new, arma players are really helpful to new players

Love the content! I have watched a few of these now and I have never seen any mortar action. It wouldn't be out of place for a company level or for that matter a platoon level attack to get battalion mortar support. Arent mortars modeled in the game or is there no interest in using them? Merely curious. :)

Not only are you trying to lead a 40 to 50 man team.. but you have to deal with server setting issues and load issues... holy shit.. probably need a tutorial and test for anyone joining the server... like pay attention to radio frequency..etc... its not hard
