Obviously Clough signed for us before the Internet age, and it was really weird to see him just disappear from the side after SUCH a strong start. I remember being very confused and angry when he started getting dropped regularly, because I genuinely thought he had the ability to help us become classy and good again. It seemed to be an era where new signings were given very little time to adapt and settle ... with Saunders being another victim of that. Souness just didn't seem to fancy either of them ... despite spending a fortune on both.

nigel clough is identical to his dad I loved his comment when che adams scored and they were still getting beat and poor che celebrated his goal in the corner and nigel said he needs to learn you don't celebrate when you need more goals poor che first goal for the club as a young lad but a great comment from nigel typical of his dad brian what a legend

Nigel Clough joined Liverpool in a changing club. Graham Souness expected more discipline too soon as he said in his later reflections. The team had become too individualist, and looked more like a decent Totternem Hotspur side than a Liverpool team. The old Kenny Dalglish passing game had become less prominent in favour of more individual play, with players fighting for places in every respect. As a team player Nigel must of been put out by this as John Barnes who was also a team player had been put out for England and his talents where similarly less used, but for Nigel as a new comer he was already an outsider. On the last day of the 1994 league season Nigel played for Liverpool against Kenny Dalglish`s Blackburn Rovers in the League Title decider and Liverpool won playing the Dalglish passing game. It was a good match for Nigel Clough. If only Liverpool would have played like that all along they would have won more games and accomodated Nigel Clough with a great tallent for scoring half chance goals and creating scoring chances . Pele himself was a team player. Joe Cole has been a later simmilar player. Coudous To Nigel Clough for staying and being part of the wider team squad. If he was in a foreign team like Barcelona, but being side lined, we would all come to this conclusion strait away. The great passes and goals he scored for Liverpool are legendary as are his Nottingham Forest ones.

The reason why Clough was shunned is because of his Dad's controversial 1994 memoir when Brian made an imflammatory and sensless comment about Hillsbrough. His words were: "I will always remain convinced that those Liverpool fans who died were killed by Liverpool people" - OR - “They were drunk. They killed their own,”. Clough would later be dropped by Roy Evans after Souness was sacked, in favour of the emerging Robbie Fowler paired with Rushie. I like Nigel Clough and he will always be remember for the 2 goals against Man Utd. But some Liverpool supporters will never forgive Brian Clough for ruining his son's emerging career at Liverpool.

He was a good signing. Its a shame Fowler emerged and Brian Clough made things worse for his boy with his sensless comments about Hillsbrough. Perhaps you should do your homework.
