TRICKED TINS

Күн бұрын

This project was a bit different than usual, but everything came together perfectly. Its crazy to think this boat is lightweight enough that 1 man can easily launch it in remote ponds. @Fisheryin is going to love this tiny tinny. I look forward to the content he's going to share fishing out of it.

I throw swimbaits bigger than that! Just kidding! You are so right. Gotta touch the hubs after traveling to your lake, If they are too hot to touch, they probably need service! Thanks for bringing it up Trick!

Long Explanation: The Bearing Buddy concept works basically this way. You should properly hand pack front and back bearings. Then pump the Bearing Buddy up while spinning the wheel until grease comes out the air/water hole. After each trip and launch in water, pump a few pumps of grease to push out any water until you see fresh grease. Grease should not blow out the back if the axles and rear seals are good. If grease does blow out the back before the air/water relief hole, then the tolerance is bad on the axles. You need to replace the spindle or sleeve the axle seal area to correct the tolerance. I had to do one axle on a trailer I purchased due to rust. Once I polished it out, the tolerance was too much, so water would come in the rear seal, and grease would push out the seal. Sweating on a seal sleeve corrected the problem. Marine Wet axles & hubs are the best way to go. You can visually see the grease in the hub. If you have a grease leak, water can get in the hub. *** ALL HUBS SHOULD BE SERVICED ANNUALLY *** Any hub with an Alemite gives people a false sense of security that the hubs don't need to be serviced anymore. I hope this helps.

Man I love your builds. I have the same boat color and hydro turf with cut groove. Maybe I missed it but I didn’t see you add a breaker or a master cutoff switch, just looked like a direct connection. Can’t wait to check out the full reveal.

I always hand pack the back well before putting the bearing on then pump front full. The hole is for air escape loke said once heated up all the grease will work its way over all and the air will excape of any is left.

You should pull the buddy bearing back off and see if the back of the bearing got any grease. You made a good point and now I want to know 😂

As soon as the grease gets hot, it’ll distribute evenly. Give her a couple more pumps and it’ll be good.

You should pack the back of the hub with grease before you put it on the axle. Then, you fill the front through the bearing buddy.

I just watched part of this vid. Will be watching the rest in the morning while I drink my coffee... before heading down to work on my build. That blue looks GREAT! Quick Questions... I have a dent/dip in the top of the rub-rail that I want to get out/straighten before I do my paint. 1) What method do you use to straighten them? Only thing I can think of is install a rivnut or something and use a slide hammer... OR fill it but it will still be visible. 2) How much would you charge do fix it? May take an hour to fix.
@TRICKEDTINS
@TRICKEDTINS Ай бұрын
Idk. Only thing i could recommend is a hammer. Maybe cuting a relief slot and welding and grinding. I don't do anything for less than $100
