Get you an oscillating tool, grind the teeth off a blade and bevel the edge. Makes a great scraper tool. I’ve used it on aggravating foam in bass boat and would probably help a lot with that sea deck so it wouldn’t be so hard on you!

On a 17 foot boat how much do you normally charge to weld the pods on?

Such a clean clean build ! I like the layout on that boat, you guys really knock these boats out the park! I don’t know how you can free hand weld like you did to put the transducer mount or whatever that is on the back transom! I’m learning and it looks way easier then it actually is. It’s a fine art to TIG weld as good as you do ! Any tips for free handing like you do ? How much tungsten stick out do you run ? Maybe one day you could do a setup video !
@TRICKEDTINS3 күн бұрын
Thanks brotha. Ill do more welding videos soon. I use ⅛" stick out. I've been welding for almost 25 yrs. The pinky finger extended, or the elbow locked on your hip is my go to for free hand welding. Its something you just can't learn overnight. Tig alone is an art. I'll try to do a couple videos on welding shortly. Thanks for watching tho.

Is that greenish yellow coating zinc chromate?
@TRICKEDTINS3 күн бұрын
Idk lots of people said it is.
@Junebug602 күн бұрын
@TRICKEDTINS Zinc chromate is used on aircraft to prevent corrosion. I retired from ups as a mechanic after 32yrs most of rhat time in the powertrain shop but I did work several years in the trailer shop. We used it on aluminum trailer panels after accident damage repair. Its a good product.

Another great video to learn from. That’s probably zinc chromate primer (rattle can), under the rear. A corrosion inhibitor is never a bad idea, and it’s often available that color. Too bad water has leaked in since it was manufactured. tracker should watch videos. Check out my 2024 G3 that you welded the CC for.I was on a test rune before I got sick lest month.
You really need a helper brother! If I was close I’d lend a hand. Nice layout! I like that it still has a good size cockpit area. I would have done a live well in that front hatch and added the additional daybox in the top of the front deck as you suggested. Should be a sweet rig once complete. Awesome work as always 💪

At 50 he was able to bend over and run better than he did in college! Don't mess around and waste time and hinder your quality of life. See an Ortho ASAP! I didn’t read through all of your comments, so I hope this isn’t redundant but your opening statement about there being no foam in the boat is absolutely incorrect. The center section of the boat is filled with foam, but is pressure tested and sealed to avoid any water intrusion which can decay the foam overtime. If you watch a couple of the Hanko KZbin videos, they explain this.

I'm from Brazil. The boat is very beautiful. Could you give me the size specifications? Can you tell me if there is any information on the internet?
So just out of curiosity, I just picked up an old 1984 riveted 1648 mod-v bass boat and hope to turn it into a bass/duck boat. Is it feasible to go through and pop rivets to replace with a weld grinned down to make it flush or will it take away the structural integrity of the hull?
