If you ever upgrade the tiny house you could buy a toilet which has a small basin built in on top of the flush system. That way no need to use the kitchen sink after toilet use and therefore more hygienic.

Can’t say the idea of washing my hands on top of the toilet excites me. You would definitely want to close the lid on the commode when you flush. Microscopic droplets can fly when you flush and easily land in and around the sink. ICK!!! It’s not a surprise to hear people end up with E. Coli in their system and wonder why. Sanitary would be washing your hands in the kitchen although barely . Raw chicken rinsed in the sink is an invitation for Salmonella germs to be on hard surfaces. Just keeps getting better and better!!

Like the layout a lot too! I prefer the swing of the fridge door as is though. Taking stuff out would be easier to rest on the counter beside it, than placing above on the other; especially if taking out multiple items. More energy efficient too.. don't have to open door as wide moving from the sink to the fridge and vice versa. I would also go for the toilet sink combo for sure.

I love it; it's so cute. It reminds me of my very first apartment. They were old dorm rooms that had been renovated into micro apartments. The rent cost was half that of a normal 1 bedroom, so it was perfect for a poor, single student. Being less than 5 feet tall was also to my advantage when living in such a small space. I had a lofted bed with a 2 person sofa underneath. My table/desk was a small Korean table that I could put away when not in use. I even had a small washing machine, so I didn't even have to use a coin laundry.

I really like the place. As someone who lived in a suite almost the same size as this for many years. I feel like I have some experience in making some recommendations. 1) Get a larger fridge. I had a small fridge like the one you have and it was my biggest compliment about the suite I rented. I would always have to be running to the store to get more food and when I meal prepped it made it hard to store my meals. I was a student at the time. 2) lift the microwave and toaster onto the wall. I love the small shelf above the sink. But I would rather see a larger shelf installed to hold my microwave, toaster and blender or what have you. Maximizing the vertical space in my tiny suite was important and I was fortunate that my place did maximize the vertical wall space well. 3) That Ikea sofa bed is really bad. I had the exact same one and it lasted about 6 or 8 months before it cut the bolts in half. I do not know the exact dimensions, but FLEKKE from Ikea is the day bed I went with after that couch/bed and it was way better. The headboard/sideboard makes it a great couch because you can lean against the headboard/sideboard without having your own body weight push yourself away from the wall. Additionally having only having the headboard on one side makes it less intrusive in the space. Actually, sorry that couch is not the one I had. However, not having a full length bed is rough. I know you, know this space better than I do. So I'm not saying my opinion is more valid. I am just making suggestions. I love the place and would rent it in a heartbeat from you 😊.

I would not rent just because the sink is too small. Like other commenters I think a toaster oven would be more practical. Love the blue and yellow!

Catherine, I think he is going to rent out his house and store his possessions in this small one

He is not allowed to rent it, it is too small and in accordance with the laws of UK he would be guilty of a criminal offence unless he wants to rent if on the side without documents...he wants to rent the main house not the tiny house

It’s always nice to see a fellow T1D warrior!!! 💪 way to go on your tiny home! Looks incredible!

As a project, I admire what you've done with such a small space, it looks to be done to a high standard and you get a lot of bang for your buck. I get the impression that this was built for you and I do hope that is the plan and it's never rented out. Building it for yourself is one thing but the housing situation in this country is getting worse and worse. I can see a future where such small homes are offered at obscene rents to those who are desperate and with no other choice.

Happening here now, studio apartments in the central city.

He said he was renting the house out and using this for storage. However, even if it were to be rented out, I bet it would be a perfect student rental if priced reasonably.

Be fine if reasonably priced - even better if they could use the house washing machine on a couple of evenings and line-dry clothes.

I was gifted a toaster oven that is also a convection oven and air fryer for Christmas. We hardly use our traditional oven anymore, since it’s so much faster to use the new one. It would be plenty for a small space, and only takes up the space of a large toaster oven/medium microwave.

A drop table somewhere would make it in to a livable space, rather than a personalized hotel. Air fryer is definitely a must without an oven.

I am planning to demo and rebuild an old metal shed. A 10x10 concrete footprint is already there. This is why I click on your video. You did an incredible job turning it into a livable space. I wish I could do the same but it can’t be a living space per HOA guideline. I’d make it a yoga/workout studio.

I know that you are in the UK but this goes to show that we can solve the homelessness crisis here in Canada.

....Not if the population keeps growing. I'm 64. The population of the USA has doubled in my lifetime, and I'm not dead yet. Insatiable is not sustainable. Choices have consequences.

I have a toaster oven/airfryer combo, I love it! It would work well in your space. I have even baked chicken in it. And it even says you can bake muffins in it too!

Get a small air fryer!! Best invention since sliced bread! Might even not need microwave.

True that, I’ve had my air fryer for six months and have only used my existing oven once and that was only for a large pizza.
