I saved this one so I can go back and soak up more about this. I only have a Dobyns 795 now but hope to grow my rod selections and swimbaits.

Also you can’t hardly find that Daiwa AGS Tatula Elite swimbait rod it’s discontinued I tried to grab one last year when I saw you running it. I’m went with the Megabass TS Destroy Black Jack and Casino. Killer 1-2 punch for glides and soft baits up to 7oz on the blackjack even ran my DRT Ghost at 8oz on the Black Jack that rod is incredible!

I've only had 1 swimbait rod, it's from the older tatula line I believe. It's a 7' 9 heavy swimbait mod-fast rated up to 6oz . Its been pretty good for all swimbaits I've been throwing last few years. K9, chimera shad, explorer gen 2, defiant 210's, & 8" magdrafts . I'm sure I could find a dedicated soft & hard bait rods but it's done so well with both from my experience. Maybe someone more experienced would say it's better for one over the other?

Hey brother absolutely loving the content! Super stoked to see where your adventures with the Fam lead! Big dog where all the DRT love!! Break down the K9 and TK for us bro! I’m pretty versed just like to see how you were successful with the DRT baits. Also how you run your DRT Ghost 👻

Do you throw soft swimbaits as well or mostly the hard baits?
@Frostin_AustinАй бұрын
Yeah, all these rods are stiff enough to pin them and keep them pinned with single hook softies of treble hook line throughs
@CowabungaCalАй бұрын
@@Frostin_Austin I was also looking at the Daiwa DX swimbait rod, not sure if you would still recommend that from an older video or just stick to the one you showed in the recent video.

I like DXSB’s as entry level swimbait rods but definitely encourage these rods for guys wanting to be as dialed as possible!

@@Frostin_Austin Thanks, you’re the best. Hope to see the little ones catch some soon as well.

@Frostin_Austin yeah, I've also never had issues with the cutter points destroying a fish's mouth tbh. I've caught numerous fish between 7-10lbs on those hooks and never once did it leave a giant gaping hole in their mouth or face. If you have the right rod, and know how to efficiently fight a fish quickly, that won't ever happen. That usually only happens when you're fishing braid on a rod that's too fast.

I switched to the Dobyns 794-795 and 806 and paired them with the new Shimano Bantam reels and love them but tatula does have some nice rods as well.
