The innovator takes the concept and improves on the design. They are both great, but it arguably takes significantly more talent to be the first one to come up with something than it does to tweak the idea a little.

As such, he invented it.....Conversly, the guy who came along and saw that lightbulb, examined it, and thought about using a different monophilliment inside to make it shine brighter, or last longer. He is the innovator, as he took an existing idea, and improved on it......He did not create the lightbulb, as that was the inventor. He simply improved on the inventors idea.
