I run a construction business and I have replaced ALL of my halogen work lights with 4,000 to 10,000 lumen LED work lights. The halogens put out ridiculous amounts of heat, are expensive to run, can burn workers, have bulbs that burn out every other month, cannot be used in inclement weather and are fragile - bump one and break the bulb. The LEDs are cool to the touch, light weight, the bulbs don't burn out, they are safe to use when it's raining, and are durable and inexpensive. My tapers and painters love them. I can put two or three in each room in which I have guys working for the same cost as one halogen. The outside guys, framers and roofers and the like, love the 10,000 lumen lights on stands to be able to extend their work day. No comparison, halogen is dead - at least to me.

Hello, can you tell me how much lumens a 200 watts halogen bulb delivers ? The problem with these led floodlights is that they almost never tell the true power. A 100 watt led floodlight only gives 50, a 50 watt only gives 30 or 20... and it´s getting worse. I purchased recently some 30 watt RGB floodlight, but they do not illuminate a third of my old 30 watt led floodlight. This is outrageous !

thats good sir.. LED is better than halogen.

What about the color temperature or Kelvin? Halogen lights produce warmer/yellowish light while LED produces cooler/bluish light. The cooler light is no good for your eyes. Keep that in mind! iristech.co/color-temperature-and-blue-light/

@@vesandreev7864 LEDs come in a variety of color temps. There are even LEDs that adjust color temp on the fly to anything you want, which I use both in film-making and mood lighting in my home.

although way more expensive, you should try a RAB LED floodlight. Much better optics and quality housing. I'm amazed by how little throw that 100w model you have does.

The ground wire not being connected would not be called a "short circuit".
@factchecker20126 жыл бұрын
Exactly! I was surprised to hear him say that. It would of course be an 'open' circuit.

Thank you for sharing the video, our company has floodlight but be honest I dont' know too much about the Halogen floodlights at the moment. I am learning on KZbin, youtube is really a great tool. Thanks again for sharing!! ;)

Only a $10 discount for receiving a defective and unsafe product? I sure as hell would have demanded a lot more than that, if not for free! That kind of defect and shoddy construction are inexcusable in this day and age!

eastern watts are usually 1/3 western watts, i have not worked out east/west lumens coefficient yet... but i also know that a longevity hour eastern is not the same as as western either, and seems to be random depending on jet stream air current speed....

It actually looks brighter than the halogen is that because of the colour temp or is the halogen loosing brightness over time.

led are 10 time efficient. halogen have a 100perc cri vs 80 of your led. this is also nice to compare.

I'm going to replace my 500w halogen work light (cost $5) with a 10,000 lumen LED work light (cost $40). In other words the the LED costs 8 times more than the halogen for similar brightness. But it's worth it because of heat and safety issues with halogen.

(0:34) - Um, don't you mean an "open" circuit on the ground? And at (1:052). You really should have filed or sanded off the paint there, at the point where you are attaching that ground lug/tab to make any kind of decent connection. At (2:05), it really sounds like you are saying "gelatin", rather than "halogen". Am I mistaken? Please. Please listen to it.

I have 4 of these under my carport. I am thinking of changing the 50 watt chips and drivers to 100 watt. what are your thoughts about that? I was concerned about heat.

Just looking at your video. Not sure where you are located but, you mention CE approved. This means it is only certified for use in Europe or China to name a few. These countries don't require a ground connection. It is not a legal product for North American use. Yes buyer beware.

just bought an LED flood light that looks just like the one you show. I opened it up and it is grounded but the ballets look smaller than the ones in yours and mine is supposed to be a 100 watt light. How can I find out if it is truly a 100 watt light?
@kw0s7 жыл бұрын
john1 smith - two ways, (1) have a watt meter and connect to the AC side. I do no have one such. (2) Measure from the low voltage DC side. The voltage and Amp, for example 24v * 2A = 48w. I have one such multi meter from Harbor-Freight (free or about $4). I would not be surprise thie 100

Crap, hit the wrong key. This 100w may only have 50w. But I am sure it is very bright for the money you paid.

As long as it's installed high up where no one can touch the housing why worry about the ground wire?
@v8pilot6 жыл бұрын
Because if somebody goes up on a ladder, for example to reposition the direction of the lamp, and they get an electric shock and their reaction throws them off the ladder, they may finish in a wheelchair for life. BigDish, I don't think I will count on you to perform risk analysis.

LEDs are super efficient lights and are now being seen at higher power levels suitable for floodlights. Online sellers like Ebay and Amazon cover everything from expensive high quality to non-certified cheap knockoffs. I review the build of a cheap one (although it said in the ad it was CE approved) to its internal shortcomings. For those handy and confident, they are a bargain, but buyer beware.

Poorly made, not ULC compliant. Wait for the post fire discussion with your insurance company. Penny wise Pound foolish. Buy a Reputable Brand name that is certified and will hopefully be around WHEN you have troubles. Anyone who believes the theoretical lifespan of an LED light is dreaming.
