We have a friend in Germany that developed an allergy to red meat. Not sure of the exact German diagnosis. However after like 4 years, with Doctors permission he was able little by little to add red meat back into his diet, and now has no problem. I pray that the same will happen with Parker ❤ Food allergies are scary 😦 Blessings from Green 🌱🌿🍀 Ohio 😃

Oh my goodness! You did a great job getting all that for that price. It's already hard enough shopping these days with all the high prices but to add on special dietary needs on top of that. You rock!

Wow! You did great, budget wise! It’s hard to buy healthy food and stay under budget! Nice you found so many things Parker can eat! I feel like there are so many allergies out there and wonder what is causing them all! I know I feel sick when I eat store bought eggs, but when I eat farm fresh from my friend, the eggs don’t make me feel sick. My daughter was never allergic to dairy, growing up, but as an adult, she became allergic. At times, she can drink milk straight from a local dairy, just fine! I hope Parker will be able to enjoy the foods he loves, that he can’t currently have, once again.

Good Morning, I watch Three Rivers homestead. She cooks Dairy-Free due to a child that has anaphylactic allergies. These might help you out with your new way of cooking. Prayers for your new journey. I changed our way of cooking 32 years ago due to son who at age 6 diagnosed type 1 diabetic. I continue to cook the same way which is low sugar healthy lifestyle.

Duck fat is a game changer for me. Use it where I would have used Lard.

If you can find these brands in your area they offer a lot of variety for him to enjoy- Miyoko‘s, VioLife, and Chao. Miyoko‘s makes a really good butter spread and cream cheese. Violife makes really great shredded cheese and cheese slices. Chao cheese makes a really good slice cheese that gets melty on things like a grilled cheese. All of these brands are plant-based/vegan. I haven’t tried Bettergood cheese so I can’t compare it. I do really like Bettergood items I have tried though so their cheese is probably really good too. 🙂

I would learn how to read the codes on the packaging for kosher (meat-free)(k). They will also say Dairy (d). Check your dish soap; it often has meat products in it. p-parve, not meat, not milk. Basically, following kosher rules will help you find what is in the package.

I know everyone is different but my daughter has alpha gal and the only meat that doesn’t affect her is farm fresh. Anything from the store she gets sick fast. She eats steak from a restaurant or store and instantly gets sick, we cook up a steak from our local farm she is fine. Just a thought when you go to reintroduce foods.

Yikes. That sounds like playing with fire because it’s common for each alpha-gal exposure to cause a range of symptoms- ie one day it could be very mild but another day it could be severe or life threatening. I wouldn’t assume that lack of a reaction to farm fresh meat means it will always be ok

That’s interesting! We will keep that in mind, for sure!

Good morning. I’m curious what meats is he able to have. Yesterday I was wanting to remind about pork then I realized mammals not necessarily just beef. I was going to ask if he could have eggs but that’s not from a mammal. For some reason my brain isn’t processing mammal very well. What a blessing to be able to find so many fun options for him.

He can have eggs, poultry, fish, and shellfish. He started adding dairy day before yesterday (sour cream and white cheddar cheese) and so far, no reactions. :)

@@freedomhomesteadky Im interested in following his/ your journey with this. I’ve only recently heard of this alpha gal. So odd. I’m praying for him.

My suggestion - you can still buy many brands of Ramen and use just the noodles (eg Maruchen brand noodles are dairy free) and not use the flavor packet. Buy the Better than Bouillon No Chicken or No Beef (both vegan/no dairy) and add a spoonful of that to make the ramen broth - maybe with a dash of soy sauce or white pepper or sesame oil to give it extra Asian flavor.
