Hi Nessa , we cook about 99% of our food at home , we buy single ingredients from the store as much as possible. No takeaways or eat outs except for special occasions . I take short cuts by not making everything from scratch so will buy sauces , sausage, canned tomatoes and veggies, we buy pasta . I do all the cooking and honestly don’t want to spend all my life cooking 😃

Thank you for sharing Nyssa. I’m excited to see your take on keto style foods. I’m wanting to do that too. Have you heard of primal alternative? There’s paleo breads you can order or buy the mix and make it yourself or even sell it. They are a very tasty bread substitute. Looking forward to your next one ❤
@OurSmallFootprint2 күн бұрын
I actually looked at doing primal alternative as a business at one point, but obviously, not in my current kitchen lol. I would have to have like a food truck or something that could be a registered kitchen!

@@OurSmallFootprint I thought you might be great at that as your baking skills are excellent. Maybe something for down the road. Could renovate the van you have and use that. Nyssa, I've been meaning to ask....what type of sausage do you make? Andouille, kielbasa, breakfast, sweet Italian, hot sausage, bratwurst?
@OurSmallFootprint2 күн бұрын
It's close to a sweet italian, but I use cowboy candy in it, but that would be the closest kind of mix of spices, I do just throw everything in and sometimes I use really different flavours, but my fallback is basically a sweet italian style :D

But recently he was turned on to Cowboy Candy and mention Cowboy Candy and I think of u. Anyway he made a meat loaf and I've never seen you make meatloaf. Do you ever? I love leftover meatloaf sandwiches.
@OurSmallFootprint2 күн бұрын
I have a few recipes written down for the new way of eating, but no, not often, I think because its a long cook, I normally make rissoles or meatballs just because I can cook em faster! But I'll definitely look at making some over the next two months because we'll be relying on mince a lot I feel and want to change it up, and nothing beats a bacon wrapped meatloaf!

Why didn’t you attend your kids baptism? That’s so sad. My kids got baptised last year as older teenagers and it was so special for them , we invited family and friends to come celebrate the day with them 😊
@frugalitystartsathome48892 күн бұрын
Why is it “sad”? She has previously explained that she a) doesn’t attend church and b) doesn’t leave the homestead save for grocery runs and medical appointments. Not everyone is religious and not everyone needs to be in their kids’ pockets for every single experience - they are allowed to be without mum on occasion, after all.
@OurSmallFootprint2 күн бұрын
If they choose to pursue further religious things and are more educated about their choices and have decided that is the path they want to take, I will attend and support them if that is what they want. But for me, a baptism means nothing, I am not religious, and they are young enough that they don't really understand what they are doing either, and that's fine, they wanted to do it and I will support their choices, but they didn't care whether I was there or not :). I don't attend church at all and I don't know all these people that they and Darryl know.
