That xQc clip at 3:14 is tragically amazing in so many ways, because you wouldn't know what happened unless you paid attention. If he had chose to eat any of the other food items in his inventory, he would have survived; the bread, the potatoes, the porkchops, the fish, all of which would have kept him alive. But the perfect storm of the Enderman dropping a pearl, which itself is rare, mixed with him being so panicked he selected the porkchops but then swapped over to choosing the single apple in his inventory, mixed with him picking up the pearl before the sand block right beside it, also mixed with him being at exactly 2 hearts. All of which combined perfectly to make such a beautifully tragic moment, and the fact it wasn't scripted is absolutely phenomenal. Cinema can only wish to capture such a level of beauty.

Actually happened to me once, it wasn't a hard-core world, I was in the middle of a speed run and my axe broke with a finishing blow to an enderman, but I didn't realize it until I tried blocking my shield at a nearby skeleton and ended up using the pearl which had replaced my broken axes slot and died

Shields are useless in hardcore. I speak from experience. Theres a delay when the shield works, and its officially counted as a bug in the minecraft bug tracking jira service desk. I slowed it down to see how far into the void he was when he died. When he took the final bit of damage that killed him, his Y coordinate was -64. Hardcore tips: 1. Always bring shields. Trust me shields can save your lives because it blocks the creeper damage and also deflects arrows from skeletons 2. Bring water buckets. It can save you from taking fall damage. 3. Always listen. A hiss of a creeper may take you world away. 4. Remain calm at all times. If you are panicking and close to dying, just pause the game and think about what you should do. 5. As i said from the last tip, pause the game. Pause the game if you wanted to take a break. Especially for streamers who reads chat and donations. 6. Always have Elytra when in the End dimension. It might save you from falling in the void. 7. If you are a player that just started the game, don't play hardcore right away. You must learn the knowledge of the game before you play hardcore. 8. It is better to be paranoid, but not too much. You need to worry about mobs so you can be careful. 9. Always have important stuff in your hotbar (water bucket, blocks, food) That way you don't need to go to your inventory to hotswap 10. Fix your inventory at all times. 11. Don't use pearls when at low hp. That's how xQc died and never do that. 12. When at low hp, lock yourself in. So you can take your time to think and regen your hp. 13. Always make good decisions. A bad decisions can take your world. 14. Lastly, pay attention. You might die if you don't. This is all of my hardcore tips, and this is just my advice.

Here is what actually happened. He had one apple and when he ate it he picked up the Ender pearl. Then he did not let go off the button in time so he threw it and died.

Here's some of the advice I gathered to prevent most of the deaths from this video on how to not die: -Always have your chest plate/elytra in your hotbar when switching armor pieces so you can switch back quickly in case of emergency -Always have a totem or sheilf in your offhand when in possible deadly situations, and it's better to stay on the defensive rather than offensive if you're on low health -when near tall structures or deep holes, bring a water bucket or another fall buffer, like a haybale or a bed. Though bed probably isn't the best idea when in the Nether or the End. -And if you're newer to the game, it's best to at least do some practice survival worlds rather than just jumping straight into hardcore. Of course, most of this is assuming you've already completed all of or most of the main objective in the game (defeating the Ender Dragon) Happy surviving!
