Unfortunately, Orville Rogers died in November of 2019 at the age of 101. However, it seems as though Julia "The Hurricane" Hawkins is still alive and is currently 105 years old!

True story: some years ago our da., who lives & works in the Dom. Republic, had her purse ripped off of her when in a town ctr. one day (she's tall, light-skinned & looks nothing like the natives so is an obvious target). Though in a dress & heels, she knew she couldn't afford to lose her bag because her documents were inside--so weaving through the crowds, ran the guy down. As he was cowering on his back on the sidewalk & handing her purse back to her, he exclaimed in Spanish, "Lady, you should try out for the Olympics!" 😂 What he didn't know is he was actually lucky to get off without any damage other than to his pride--bec. our da. is trained in martial arts. 😁
