They are the record holders they are the 100 year old and 102 year old. The record holders did finish last. But they were running against runners younger than themselves

True story: some years ago our da., who lives & works in the Dom. Republic, had her purse ripped off of her when in a town ctr. one day (she's tall, light-skinned & looks nothing like the natives so is an obvious target). Though in a dress & heels, she knew she couldn't afford to lose her bag because her documents were inside--so weaving through the crowds, ran the guy down. As he was cowering on his back on the sidewalk & handing her purse back to her, he exclaimed in Spanish, "Lady, you should try out for the Olympics!" 😂 What he didn't know is he was actually lucky to get off without any damage other than to his pride--bec. our da. is trained in martial arts. 😁

Walking at 100 years old is already quite something.. to be fair a few running this are qualified for still being able to walk. I wonder what was the aftermath in terms of injuries.. my grandma is 95, if she ran this she would’ve gotten excited and would’ve gotten competitive.. but then she would complain about her knees for month

Actually if you look at the times the runners in both races that won were much younger participants. The film didn't even show Miss Julia the record holder she was Far Behind The Front Runners. But as I said she was much older than the FrontRunner. And the same is for the men's event. The winner, Mr. Orville came in last. They were both running against people much younger than they. Whoever put this together did not clarify that and made it appear as if they, the record holders were the ones finishing first

@Everyday Good Vibes you are implying that healthy, ambulatory centurions in other countries is common. Where do you base that argument? In what country or region of the world is it that most people live to be 100 and are still able to walk/run?
@HappyLife693
@HappyLife693 3 жыл бұрын
@Everyday Good Vibes sure, the average person in the US has a poor diet and little exercise. I appreciate your positive expression of living a healthy life and agree. But you are mixing apples and oranges. Just like the 22 year old cat, it is rare and should be applauded to see people living their fullest, especially at 100 years of age. Most people don’t live that long, much less able to run in a foot race.
@omardcastrod
@omardcastrod 3 жыл бұрын
@@HappyLife693 actually, most other countries on that planet are a whole lot healthier than we are in the US. That is no hidden secret; and with that being said, there are less sick, obese, frail people across the globe. Therefore, it is clear an obvious that centennials (not centurions), will be stronger, healthier and in better shape over all. It’s also, NOT uncommon or a miracle that a person this age is able to walk or run. Just because you turn a certain age, does not mean you are automatically confined to a wheelchair or a bed.
