Here I capture a number of photographs in Iceland, with the almost 100 year camera the Zeiss Ikon Cocarette. A camera made by Ziess Ikon probably around 93 years ago.
they don't make them like they used to.

@@olitography I once saw video of a guy who put a Ross Xpres 105mm F3.8 on a Nikon D810. The results were to die for. The lens was from the old Ensign Selfix 820. I have two of them. I might try that on my D800 one day.

Nice work team, some cracking hots in there.I love old folders I'm becoming a tad obsessed, my faves so far are the Zeiss Ikonta M 6x6 and the Voigtlander best II 6x9. For pure style I have a Falco II proper Italian class, scale focus though so I just snagged a hot shoe rangefinder for 2 quid can't wait t give it a go. Loved th inclusion of the old camera ads.

I wet on eBay and I purchased a rangefinder after reading your comment, using a 5d as a range finder is not that accurate, I’ll let you know how that goes.

Dear Oliver I loved your video so adventurous, and great to see some using cameras of a bygone age. I to have a few cameras like the one you used in your video, with focusing that difficult to nail. I’ve found a way of nailing focus using builders info red measuring device used by estate agents, and builders. They are cheap, deadly accurate, and measure in feet and metres. Keep up the good work. Regards A. Phillips

I do have something like that, which is use at work, even a cloth tape measure, they wont help you if you get metric and imperial mixed up though

Brilliant! Cannot beat 6x9 negatives for size and "body." I need to figure out how to patch pinholes in the bellows -- I have a good number of folders, but most have pinholes. And the darned metric system! That's why we in the US never converted (or are we too lazy?) 🙂 But you both had a great time in Iceland -- and Jamie put up with a goodly amount of cold and wind! I really enjoy your experiments with *really* old camera tech -- and how you attempt to reproduce the settings/clothing -- or lack thereof. Those shots of Jamie in the pool/hotspring could have been shot in the 1930s and hand-colored.... Thank you for sharing all of this!

I do have a video on fixing up an old Kodak, its not crowed pleaser so ive never put it out but i fix bellows one of two ways, the first is cloth electrical tape, or elemers school glue mixed with black dye, you put a in though the hole put some of the slimy glue on it and pull it back though, seems to work

A bit of Ribbed Black gaffer tape will do wonders, unless you want to sell it. In that case there are some solutions available which will dry to a flexible balck resin. Good enough for small repairs.

Tesa Tape. It's designed for wrapping car wiring looms. Very effective as it folds and follows contours, and is low tack so it doesn't damage anything. Also works on slr's and compacts with dodgy seals. On sale on fleabay etc.

@@lensman5762 -- Thanks -- I'll repair cameras that I want to keep and use, otherwise any that I'd sell would be "As Is" -- and display units won't need any repairs. Gonna try to glue/dye to "fill" the holes and then the Tesa tape (seems to be the most flexible) over top and to cover seams.

something I've always wondered... what do you do if a group of tourists walks up while your model is in the pool? I had something like that happen to me once except I wasn't the photographer. I was walking through a wood with my 4x5 (5x4 on your side,) when I came across a woman photographing a nude female with a Hasselblad. There was an ear-splitting shriek from the model as I emerged from the brush, swearing that would have embarrassed my ex-navy father-in-law from the photographer and the model disappeared behind a tree. You didn't have any trees to hide behind at the pool so ...

There were a group of drunk locals at the pool as well as us. We were polite, did our thing and left, usually you just carry on weather someone is there or not. When we did the Pentagon video there was a couple doing a nude shoot in the church, Generally people are vey respectful.

Would one of those pocket laser measures work? My wife has one for measuring gardens and it seems pretty accurate outdoors and is conveniently small. Though it would look a bit as though Jamie is being targeted by a sniper….

It looks like this camera takes 129 film but in the video it appears you loaded traditional 120. Did you have to trim the film or is there a work around?
