We won't fully appreciate what President Nelson has done for the Church for decades. His work will carry on through time.

We will appreciate it then, but I think I can appreciate it now…the more the temples, the more light and personal power we have, and to see the all encompassing work of the Lord, to feel the love, and to be more at one with our brothers and sisters all over the earth 🌍!! Temples keep the light of the Lord, and the Holy Spirit with us, and they dispel the darkness of the world 🌎. That is one reason why they are a blessing to have in your area. This is all my opinion, but I feel that it is true, too!!

A friend of mine visited Salt Lake City couple of week ago. She asked me what she can do while there. Of course I mentioned all the Church's sites and she did ... somehow (and we know how this works) she was invited to attend an open house of this Temple. What an incredible opportunity to end her trip to Utah, at least that was I thought. She even convinced her son and daughter in law to accompany her to the open house. In the time she was sharing pictures of all the places she visited, including of the outside of the Temple. My friend was amazed at the beauty of the place - she told me, however she and the others in her group visiting the Temple encounter a sister who was leading the attendees who was rude and pushing everyone from one to the other. When people asked any questions this sister avoid answering leaving us - my friend said - with a sense of either is secret or simple this sister was having a bad day. When visiting on the ordinance rooms, a young people in the group sat in one of the multiple chairs, this sister ran from where she was and almost yield at the young person to get up, not giving any explanation what happened or what the horrible sin the young person committed by sitting there. At this point not only friend, her family and most of th a t group (whom were not members) got discussed with the point treatment and lost interest for was coming afterwards. I couldn't come up with any explanations for this (old) sister's behavior, but instead of taking advantage of a wonderful opportunity to feel the spirit for the next step, my friend was crushed (not including her son and daughter in law) ... We don't know this sister's name, but I hope the Church do something for any future open houses to have members to volunteer to help that can be nice and full of the spirit especially to those whom are nonmembers and possibly searching for the truth. In the case of my dear friend ... well, my job to help her became harder thanks to this sister at the Temple. What a wrong place and time to have a bad day !!!!

I’m so sorry she had that experience!!! I can understand her being disgusted with that but hopefully she will see past it and know it was the individual and not representative of the whole church or the temple. 😬 I believe all of these kinds of things will eventually be made right. I have attended several temple open houses with my children and they have been reverent, beautiful experiences.

I am so happy that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has reached 3 new milestones this 2024 in its history. In 2000, the Boston Massachusetts Temple was dedicated by President Gordon B. Hinckley at that time. Fast forward to 2024, President Russell M. Nelson turned 100 years old on September 09, 2024. The fourth volume of Saints: The Story of the Church of Jesus Christ in the Latter Days titled Volume 4: Sounded in Every Ear, 1955-2020 was published and released on October 29, 2024 to the public. And now, the 200th house of the Lord, the Deseret Peak Utah Temple located in Tooele, Utah, U.S.A. was dedicated by President Russell M. Nelson. In 2030, we get the chance to commemorate/celebrate the bicentennial/200th foundational anniversary of the organization of the Church by April 06, 2030, the same date which is exactly in sync with the Saturday sessions of the 200th Annual General Conference together with the following Sunday sessions on April 07, 2030. I truly know that these are the latter days preparing us for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Elder Gary E. Stevenson testified that truly "these are days never to be forgotten."

"You are never lost when you can see the temple. The temple will provide direction for you and your family in a world filled with chaos. It is an eternal guidepost which will help you from getting lost in the 'mist of darkness.'" - Gary E Stevenson
