I love big projects like this David. Looking forward to part 2. My grandfather had a safe similar to that one in his grocery store back in the 40's and 50's. Best regards, Bill.

David, that's a cool project. I was waiting for that thing to just keep rolling all cartoon like🤣🤣 Nice use of the vise grips but seriously Fred no holder???? That smell of the aircraft stripper tells you it's working😅 Quality work brother and can't wait for part 2!!

Thanks brother. I know, can't believe I couldn't find the handle for that die! Probably in one of my junk piles somewhere. LOL. Next week for Part 2!

Another work your butt off restoration. I have one of those sand blasters I have never used I forgot I had it thanks for the reminder. Good job it looks great so far. Will you be using it in your house?
@westhighlandsshop Жыл бұрын
Thanks Dale. Yes it's in my house. Just going to use to hold papers etc for the fire proofing purpose. Part 2 coming next week!

Question. Why did you opt for striping the exterior paint rather than sandblasting the entire exterior from the start?
@westhighlandsshop3 ай бұрын
Well I guess a couple of reasons. My portable sandblaster is not that great and would haven taken a while, but mainly I just didn't want all that sand and (probably) lead based paint all over my yard. Striping it first just reduced the amount of cleanup in the yard. Thanks for watching

Question for you, I have a 5 digit combination for an old safe made by Safe & Lock company. What would be the turn sequence for this old safe?
@westhighlandsshop8 ай бұрын
That is a great question! Not sure I can give you an accurate answer. For my project, I just did some research on line and then re-engineered the combo because I was able to see the dials from inside and watched the gates line up. This helped me with the numbers, but also the sequence of turns. I wish I could be more help, just not an expert on these.
