Look back at the last hundred years of earrings, from the 1920s delicate Art Deco earrings and the colorful star earrings of the 1930s, to the matching choker necklace and earring sets of the 1950s and the hoop earrings of the 1960s, see how earrings evolved over the century.

One thing to note about the 90's earrings was those big bold styles were largely confined to the early to mid 90's. By the mid to late 90's, small, silver, minimalist earrings where pretty much all what teenagers wore. So it makes sense by the 00's the style swung back to giant chandelier earrings.

1910 teenagers were working. So were kids, that's how it was in America. If you were breathing & could walk you worked. Boys selling newspapers, children working in Lace Factory, and Coal Mines. Lucky to have a tin can to kick down the road. By 1940, boys that young age were happy to have their tin can become a part of a Tank. My father said that very thing at age 5. Because we were in a War with Germany. America had "Drives" Tin, Steel, Rubber (Tires) Glass, anything that was Salvageable went into the making of Tanks, Riffles etc, to help our Troops. Today, its a far far cry. It's mainly a disposable era now... Buy it, use it, when your tired of it, trash it...

Euphoria Rose coz it’s important to see representation in the media so young POC girls and boys know that they don’t have to be white to model or be in the media
@flushthecatnip
@flushthecatnip Жыл бұрын
@Euphoria Rose it's easy to take this viewpoint when you're the default. Black and brown skin hasn't always been accurately represented through the ages, and ppl bringing that fact to light isn't 'creating and issue'. Anytime we mention the lack of representation (or, in this case, praising the representation), isn't the time to try and make a negative out of a positive. Are we not allowed to be glad that we're represented? Or offer constructive criticism when we're not? Our desire to see ourselves represented ISN'T to create conflict, and non-POC/ Black ppl (yes, they're two different things!) really need to stop seeing that as something to attack. 💁🏾‍♀️🖤 Acknowledgment that there IS disparity is not 'making something out of nothing'... differences between races and culture exists, and for ppl to try and ignore/ erase that based on some 'melting pot' theory does a disservice to ethic/ cultural ppl you're attempting to erase.

Yes, big thin and chunk hoops were in in the 90s but so were tiny hoops. Plus multiple piercings with lots of studs on one ear. I feel like this vid was just kinda skimming the surface of trends. Because they make no mention of clip ons for example.

They mention clips early on along with screw-backs. I think it's mainly looking at fashions after childhood, after a certain point most adults who wore earrings went for pierced styles rather than clips.

I still wear some of the earrings that have held up over the years that I wore in 2007 at age 12 and 13. In retrospect, I never thought simple Clair's earrings would last so long. Other than the hooks, which would tarnish at unpredictable points these past 13 years and were easily replaced, the vast majority held up well. Double ear-piercing with double hoops are still my go-to for a night out!

These earrings have been fantastic! I love your videos. I finally had enough and decided to try a "Kosiner sleeper earring" to see if it would be a comfortable option for me to wear and hopefully keep my piercings open. I ordered the 9mm/1.12G earrings because I wanted a smaller sized earring in a wire gauge that would be slightly larger than my usual earring hooks/posts. I ordered the sterling silver because I have sensitive skin and was concerned about my skin reacting to the metal. They were a bit challenging to get them through my piercings because they're very small in diameter so there's just not a lot of earrings to hold onto. Also, as I already mentioned, I ordered a wire gauge that was larger than usual earring hooks/posts so I had to deal with the frustration and pain of getting the larger wire through my relatively small piercings. But the pain was completely worth it! I've been wearing the earrings 24/7 since receiving them approximately 2 months ago. There was some initial irritation because of needing to force the earrings through my partially closed piercings, but I treated it with regular cleaning and rotating the earrings so they would heal right. There are very, very, very tiny raised spots on the earrings at the clasp and the hinge, and as my ears were healing those could hurt as I rotated the earrings through my piercings, but after my piercings healed it's not been an issue.www.amazon.com/dp/B094VHDF7G I had originally thought I would wear these earrings for a month or so, then only put them on occasionally to keep the piercings open, but at this point, they're so comfortable I don't really see a reason to remove them!
