The NBA was a MUCH different place 1000 days ago. Kevin Durant was on the Warriors. Kyrie Irving was on the Celtics. The bubble hadn't happened yet. Russell Westbrook was still on the Thunder... and so much more. Looking back, this is what the NBA looked like, 1000 days ago.

this makes me so happy as a suns fan. from going from 19 wins only 1000 days ago to 60, the run in the bubble and the culture that has been built. og suns fans deserve this for being terrible for so long. id like something similar to happen for sacramento but as bad as Robert sarver is he hasn't screwed the suns the way the Kings have been screwed

Don't take it personal but you better hope they win because it looks like internal turmoil is brewing with the organization specifically with Ayton's contract, he may be a under value piece for the team further on, CP3 is aging and players eventually needing new contracts.
@petercarolan9416
@petercarolan9416 2 жыл бұрын
@@Frank-hv7xj I personally consider mikal bridges more important than Ayton. the team has showed how special it is when cam Payne had to start at point. mikal booker and cam Johnson are great then if Ayton stays it could be a dominant team for the next 10 years then draft a point after cp as there is no pressure on point guards
@silverfang4583
@silverfang4583 2 жыл бұрын
@@Frank-hv7xj ayton is fine with us, it's just sarver needs to pay him that's all. And cp3 may be aging but his contract is very team friendly so we can dump him when he is no longer good

@@petercarolan9416 ayton is absolutely more important than mikal bridges and it isn't when close. Ayton has potential to be a top 3 center and is already a top 10/5 center who anchors our defence. Mikal is good but mikal is worse than ayton currently and ayton has higher potential

I think a video needs to be made about how Kawhi clearly should’ve signed a 1and1 with the Raptors. It’s been kind of conveniently ignored that in 2020 he could’ve been in the conference finals or NBA finals with them easily. And you know that’s exactly what was on his mind with that look he had on the bench at the end of game 7 against Denver in the bubble. Only time he’s ever visibly looked angry.
@whyintheworldamiallowedsuc400
@whyintheworldamiallowedsuc400 2 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure the only important thing with that decision was that he just wanted to be home. He wanted to be in LA and that was the only criteria for his decision.
@nbarealtalker
@nbarealtalker 2 жыл бұрын
@@whyintheworldamiallowedsuc400 oh I agree. But he also would’ve stayed in Toronto (supposedly) if they got PG. that’s why I said 1and1 because I assumed without a chip he’d want the option to leave. But Toronto was clearly his best shot at the title and a potential repeat in 2020. Fair to say that since the Raps were literally one shot away from another conference finals that he should’ve stayed for his best chance and then darted for LA next year or the year after.

Dude that off-season was crazy. It legit felt like a turning of the tide off-season. Kawhi leaves, and then the players start going to different teams left and right and all these players getting massive contracts. I remember Tobias got a big contract. And then we causally saw trades like pg to LA and Russ to Houston, kyrie and kd to the nets, and Kemba to Boston. The 17-18 off-season was the other best one that we’ve seen.

Ever since the new CBA in 2016, it's a business. It was always a business, now it's a LUCRATIVE business, and every decision is driven by money. It used to be guys like Dirk and Tim would take paycuts to keep their team competitive, now you have situations like the Miami Heat having $110 mil wrapped up in only 3 guys in 2026. Sucks but the best ability is marketability. P.S. You're a really intelligent basketball mind, and I like your videos a lot.
