Watched almost all the Denki vids since the channel dropped. Feel like the hosting and delivery has only gotten better, super insightful and quality content. You’re the man Ken!

USA gets it so good when it comes to computing deals. for example, in the UK, this set up would cost: Monitor : £380 mac mini m4 : £599 mouse: £53 keyboard: £48 speakers : £55 headphones : £48 samsung t7 1tb ssd: £68 total: £1251 or $1592 (US) EDIT: most of these items are on "sale" at the moment apart from screen + mac mini

It's a shame that you are already at a $30USD disadvantage with Mac Mini right from the get go 😭

That exact screen is £190 in the UK currently. That would bring the total down to £1061 or $1351, and that's including tax 😊

The keychron c3 pro is one of the best budget mechs especially if you get the rgb version which has hotswap for the switches. Really great pick for a quality budget keeb that you don't need anything else if you value practicality and function.

Ngl! For a denki video this setup lacks character, feels a little hacky. Mac's have a clean, minimal, cohesive aesthetic that was missing from the setup.

That's fair! Hard to beat the iMac's simplicity as an overall package

All my monitors look like crap when I connect them to my macbook air m1. Text is blurry and always feels not right! So much so that I just stopped trying to have a second monitor for my setup. I just use the laptop screen only. Wanted to get a mac mini but I can't justify the cost of a 4K monitor.

Keychron is so overhyped and having single red led on a keyboard in 2024 is kinda weird. I'm sure you can get better ones for $30 or even $40 bucks if you're on a budget.

Sorry, Ken...that lack of hot swap makes that board a no go. And yes, you can find hot swap options at that price. So, you might get cheaper switches, but hell, many come with Gaterons at least, and you can swap them out down the road.
@Denki3 күн бұрын
I get what you're saying, but for the person that doesn't want to do that work (now or down the road) - $30 is absolutely worth that tradeoff.
@mr.guillotine37662 күн бұрын
@@Denki maybe..but I don't know anyone who wants a mechanical board who doesn't want the ability to swap out switches...everyone else is out there getting some overpriced membrane board...I"m sure there a few out there, but hell, there are still some nice budget options that have hot swap.
@mr.guillotine37662 күн бұрын
@@Denki though, honestly, I'd probably save $20 by grabbing the Pebbles instead of the Logitech speakers and add that to the Keeb budget...but overall, yeah, it's a pretty decent setup, just that keyboard wouldn't work for me (or a lot of folks who actually care about mechanical boards in general, but I guess there's always someone who wont mind)
@Denki2 күн бұрын
Sounds like you know a lot of enthusiasts. Don't forget the amount of people that will buy a Razer mechanical keyboard (if not for the brand) just want sound, look and feel. I have the pebbles, they're good but this is a massive upgrade with the sub. To my ear, Pebbles actually sound worse than the iMac speakers - but yeah you can absolutely slide the budget to allocate more to another keyboard or alt preference
@mr.guillotine37662 күн бұрын
@@Denki Not sure how many enthusiasts I know, most people that I do know would likely just buy a membrane board because they don't know what the difference is in the first place tbh. If they do know the difference, they likely would at least like to have hot swap as a feature..but again, only if they even know what a mechanical board is to begin with lol. Most folks I know would likely just grab whatever Logitech board they happen to see on Amazon since it's one of the only brands they're likely to have heard of. I just use headphones so my opinion of speakers isn't very valid to begin with, but for about $40 you can get a sub with the pebbles (likely more the rest of the year, that's a right now price)...but personally, due to my living situation, headphones are required and there are a surprising number or really good headphones that don't cost more than like $30...but definitely takes time to look into to figure out which cheap ones are actually good. (audio is such a weird market...you can easily overpay or you can get junk...but you can get great ones for junk prices if you look around and do some digging into them) Ohhh, right now there are some hot swap boards from Hexgear that are 20 bucks or less but that's a holiday sale..for 19 bucks they have the Powerblade x1 pro, hot swap, tri-mode...thinking of getting it to see if it's any good or if it can be made good with some free modding. Anyway, sorry to ramble on lol. I know you likely have stuff to do. Thanks for replying to me. Love the videos. Keep up the good work!

Considering that the keyboards and monitors included with most PCs are just e-waste waiting to happen, I’d rather not have them packed in. Also, how many PCs come with the monitor? The intro to this video is almost as moronic as anytime you talk about game consoles.
