In this episode, making our second attempt at crossing the Malacca Strait to Indonesia, we are in a rush before the strong winds approach. Rounding the most western tip of Indonesia, we head south down the west coast of Sumatra and have some glorious days at sea. This passage is our biggest challenge yet as parents as we sail 1000 nautical miles as a family of 3.

Hi Joss and Bonita I have followed most of your journey since you left Australia with excitement and envy. I have decided to give in a try and in the middle of negotiations on a 37' Tartan Blackwatch sailboat. My plan is to learn Bluewater sailing (I have tons of inland sailing) around the Gulf islands off the south western coast of British Columbia Canada. I hope I have as much excitement as you. Don't worry about getting crew too much, when Tallula can take instructions it gets easier, it's less constant holding and more just watching them from a distance, just make sure to get a harness and clip for her once she starts crawling/walking for when she's on deck.
