Russ you do you, whatever kind of video you think expresses the teacher in you, the length should be as long or short as you need to get the point across on that topic. Thank you and your family for sharing. 👍

Russ I think it is a constant battle for time with producers that share on KZbin. I know you put a lot of time and thought into the videos you put out so I think it has to come down to what you feel is of value while still fits your schedule. I know as a viewer I enjoy both formats for different reasons and I would not stop watching your videos if you just did the constant shoot format. I understand it is a constant battle so please do what works for you and your family. Your true viewers will watch either way.

If that pipe ends up to be too thin and leaking. I was able to get HDPE black 160 psi rolled pipe cheaper at a local plumbing supply than at the local big box stores. It was about 1/2 price. When I got it a couple of years ago it was $0.35 per foot. A lot more than 0.10 but I can run it a normal pressure without a reducer.

Couple years ago I was able to get hdpe pipe at half the cost. But lately it has be really high. The last i look at was well over a $1.00 a foot. Thanks for the comment!
@Islandwaterjet3 ай бұрын
Tried that thin wall pipe and had problems because rocks in the trench when backfilling would crush it. It must be bedded in sand or soil only and then it was fine.

Thats a very nice place you have, good to see the kids helping. I've got a similar system except I ran 1-1/4" poly pipe 1500ft to the back of my property. I found a couple leaks due to the high pressure I need to go 100ft up the hill to a holding tank, and I found gorilla glue works great if you put some on the coupler and reassemble and give it time to cure. It works faster with a bit of water on the glue.
@RussWilson2 ай бұрын
Gorilla glue who would have thought of that. Thanks!

Hey Russ, I think you do a good Job cutting your videos. I think if you talk about a topic for 10 Minutes like Greg does in his videos, it‘s absolute ok to do it uncut. For the construction videos cutting makes sense and will lead to a more enjoyable and professional result. I think both has it‘s place.

I have a heck of a time getting metal fittings to seal in that plastic pipe. I usually end up using two hose clamps on one end. But I'm not using a pressure regulator and I'm running around 50 p s i. I might need to try a regulator.

Regulators are cheap and help wear and tear on the garden hoses to. Thanks for watching!

How's your bamboo experiment going?
@RussWilson2 ай бұрын
The Bamboo experiment is about done. The livestock like it so much that they graze it to the ground every time they are in that pasture. I've tried to fence them out but they always find a way.
@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms37543 ай бұрын
You need to do it dial what fits your personality and style Are you in Idaho I use the 250 psi HDPE pipe it handles being in our ground with the amount of frost we get. A rock can move around the pipe as it comes up the frost. It's also weldable so I don't have clamps Underground. If the pipe is on top of the ground that heavy wall plastic I can run over with the tractor and not damage it
@RussWilson2 ай бұрын
I'm in PA When I buried my permanent pipe it was 250 PSI. For temp runs I started using this pipe.

I like the edits but the content is what makes a good video. I just found your channel, subscribed. How are you liking your 360 camera? I just got one myself because my gopros gave out. Looking forward to watching more of your channel. Thanks for sharing.

I have been using 360 cameras for almost the whole time I have been doing KZbin. I have 5-360's. They been able to record stuff I normally wouldn't be able get with a normal camera. Little more work but worth in the long haul. Thanks for watching!!!

So what's your plan with the hose?? Just going ro let it lay an put quick connect in it, or it just a long run to be able to hook your garden hose up to at far end of field. Thanks
@RussWilson2 ай бұрын
I use garden hose ends on the pipe. Just drag it wherever it needs to be.

I think less editing is usually better. I would expect that would favor more but smaller videos given how long editing takes. It's actually pretty rare for to need to see a detailed demonstration, like grafting.

@davesipsy75873 ай бұрын
I greatly appreciate your all your content and learn a lot from it. My suggestion would be to try to stay on subject until you finish a thought or description that is underway and minimize the distractions and temporarily tangents (such as the name of a cow that just walked up). It may just be me, but it drives me nuts when someone is talking on one subject and suddenly switches to something unrelated and the proir thought is left hanging. Another thing that I think is very common to regenerative ranching videos is un-néeded descriptions of the lay of the land; "this field goes back to that tree line and then there's a creek over that hill". I personally believe that those kind of "big picture" descriptions waste a lot of time and are not really informative or necessary.
@RussWilson2 ай бұрын
Thank you! Staying on subject is very hard for me sometimes LOL. However I do try to do better with each video.

Russ, all contend produces & sharers should remember that you are asking also from your audience: you ar asking that we share x-min of our life with you. because of this I hate >10min video's. I prefer the Greg Judy style. one topic, no turning around and so on, so you need endless time to get to the point. might be for the monetizing not so good for youtube but in the end, where does your income from? From youtube or from your work.
@RussWilson2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the honesty! In order for KZbin to recommend videos they want you to make 8 min videos consistently. Most of the time I shoot 20-30 minutes and edit the junk out. I can try to do Greg Judy style video but honestly it seems a ton of folks are trying to do that right now. At some point I hope to make enough money to pay for my time. So I try to do as much a I can for the algorithm.

Edited videos are far more useful. Those rambling 'talking' videos tend to lose the point after about 3-4min. It seems as though they go over and over the same statements without actual benefit to the viewer.
