Many years ago....over on navarre pier, fishing was slow till the lady fish came in. There were 6 or 7 of us started a lady fish derby....man it was a blast! LoL I don't think any of us knew each other before that, but afterwards we were all friends!

Here in South West fla. Boca Grande pass, everyone uses tarpon crabs fishing the hill. A dop off point to about 70' deep. They have a tournament called the world's largest tarpon tournament. Cash prize is 100 thousand dollars. Quite the show. Downtown Boca closes down with news coverage. Working there for years the wife n I would enjoy the festivities. PBS has a show called Silver King. A lot of history dating back to row boats. No motors invented yet. People Coming from all parts of the world. Worth the watch.

I can usually get the jacks to bite a big top water plug reeled fast across the surface. I buy the cheap ones a W-mart and file the lip off, they'll bite it when they think it's running away but usually aren't interested in slow moving lures.
