all you have to do with any blender is put hot water in, & a little soap if desired, let it go at hi speed and that's it ... but i'm sure they washed it after the video

I recently bought the ninja 1000, i'm impressed ... I make a "green" drink to take me thru the week, it has kale in it, that was the test, it tore thru it and brought it down to liquid ... 3/4 c water, kale, celery, 1/2 lemon, 2 apples seeds & all, ginger, banana, a whole cucumber ... it took the whole pile right down, did a beautiful job!

Terrible design. When you pour out your smoothie the blade comes out with it. Razor sharp cut the shit out of my arm.

I agree... the same thing happened to me.. BUT... If you keep the lid on and pour it from the spout then it works good! I just hold the blade at the tip while I poor so it stays in place. That blade is REALLY sharp though... Be careful!!

I have this blender. what a piece of junk! the rubber seal on the lid is melting and possibly leaching into the food. Besides that this thing is the worst thing to have to clean! If you one one and didn't cut yourself on it you must use the dishwasher. I actually got to use a vitamix blender and i must say it's worth every penny! just wish i could afford one, but the promise it will last forever

I assume the smell will go away over time. Overall, I love this cute little blender. The extra cups and lids are great too!

Bought the processor/blender combo on sale. First time, I used the processor, sliced my finger open, so didn't touch it again for over a year. And of course, the instructions were lost...and I couldn't figure out how to get the red light from blinking on the blender. Thanks for the run-through, but it seems like the Ninja is a bit of overkill for blending fruit smoothies.

My brother just got this for me, for Christmas. It also came with the two individual 16oz cups you can blend in... Can't wait to use those things. Lol hope you figured out that lid. It has that little opening so you don't have to mess with the blade and all. You can just use is like a pitcher

Just returned my ninja blender it couldn’t even blend an ice coffee, not worth the money I paid for it I am not an idiot. I noticed there is different kinds of ninja blenders I guess they sold me a ninja reject from Zimbabwe, the worst blender ever, good job ninja on the infomercials selling a crappy blender as the Roy’s rolls of blenders.

This was a great blender that we have enjoyed for the passed 5 or so years. But we recently upgraded to a Vitamix. I think the Ninja is a great deal for a good blender. I hope you find a blender that works for you!

I think this is the worse blender ever made. It's too sensitive to be a blender. My top wont come off even with everything lined up and hitting the release button. You shouldnt need a physics degree to work a blender.

I think it's a great blender unless you want your drink to be SUPER smooth. Nothing is going to compare to the Blendtec or other expensive ones but it is GREAT for every day home use.
