At 3 pm Montgomery County dispatchers received a call of a head-on crash on SH 105 East near South Duck Creek. NMC Fire units arrived to find a 207 Pontiac ripped open and crushed by an 18-wheeler dump truck loaded with sand. The female driver identified as Chelsea Kelly, 27, who lived not far away was eastbound on SH 105 toward Cleveland. An 18-wheeler was broken down on the right side of the road with a wrecker about to tow it. The driver had his reflectors out. According to a witness, the female slowed and turned to avoid the reflectors. With the roads being wet she lost control and went into a slide. The 18-wheeler which was westbound struck her vehicle. DPS investigated the crash. Montgomery County Justice of the Peace Jason Dunn ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy.

Can we just take a minute to recognize Mr. Guillory as one of our ordinary heroes in this world. It is because of people like him who are willing to stop and possibly endanger their own lives in an effort to help someone who has been in a horrific car crash that can mean the difference between life and death. While there was nothing he could do to help this girl, the fact that he was willing to try is commendable and the epitome of humanity. Thank you, sir. You are appreciated.

Great respect to all truck drivers. Give them space and help them with signal so they can safely move over. and stay away for there blind spot. I work for a local carrier a little further up the road from where the accident occurred. SH-105 is always busy, and although I haven’t been here long, I’ve already seen it a thousand times; the speeders, the idiots who aren’t paying attention, the impatient ones who can’t wait a couple of seconds for someone to pull into the O’ Reilly’s parking lot and pass them in the little bit of shoulder going 65-70…..there is a complete lack of concern for the lives of the people that these reckless drivers endanger. They never seem to think about the consequences until it’s too late, or whenever it happens to someone they love. Pull your heads out of your ass, pay attention, slow down, and stop being stupid.

When I see a fatal accident involving a trucker it makes my heart sink. I know how hard it is to function on very little sleep and trucking takes Alot of mental efforts. As a trucker for the last 24 yrs I see the gov has been successful in their BS sleep narrative. Sleep is the last of our problems while driving. Take a ride with a trucker and look down into cars and then comeback and tell us what you see. Phones, computers, texting, emailing, applying make up, rolling joints, masterbation, reading newspapers, reading mail, people in a hurry, cars passing on the right riding right in your blind spots, people performing sex acts on each other while driving, washing windows, driving with snow covered windows or frosted over windows, one of my faves DRIVER CUTTING TOENAILS WHILE DRIVING! But its all blamed on us greedy truckers not getting enough sleep!! COUGH COUGH BULL COUGH SH*T! And now to top it off computer log books staring you in the face COUNTING DOWN! When you play a game that has a timer staring you in the face are you more relaxed or in more of a hurry? BUT YOU ARE SAFER BECAUSE THE GOV INSTITUTED ELECTRONIC MONITORING DEVICES! This is why now you see so much more aggressive driving. Anybody that wants to argue this you are more than welcome to pack a bag and come ride with me for a week! Come see with your own eyes 👀.

@@jlouis5217 you got it all wrong. She swerved around the sand truck because she saw it was broke down so she was paying attention, and then because of the road being wet she lost control ( probably overcorrected ) then slid into the ONCOMING traffic directly into the path of the truck that is sitting on top of her car. It happened in probably less than a two minute span of time from when she swerved. The truck driver saw her coming but you can't stop a big rig that fast. Its so sad. RIP to the young lady

My 6 year old sister was hit and killed by an 18 wheeler on our way home from school. She ran out from my older sisters hand because she wanted to cross the street by herself. Of course my sister said no. It has been raining, the driver tried to stop, but his back brakes failed. The last thing she ever said to me was " I want Mama". You know what though, I only saw a bruise on her face at her wake. I was only 8 years old. This happened on September 16, 1970, and I remember it like it was yesterday. His reply kind of caught me off guard, he told me “well at least it’s, not me, I just get in there and do my job and don’t attach myself to them”. Have another family friend who is a ER trauma doctor, I asked him the same thing, same reply, he just sees it as doing his job and not attaching himself, but he did say kids can be tough. It was a Pontiac G6 she was in and the truck was a 2012 to 2017 Freightliner Cascadia daycab. Thats one hard pill for everyone to swallow: the truck driver, the car driver, tow truck driver both families and the both trucking companies. Everybody loss; time that day. I've always said to people if you have problems in life, its a good day because your still living and always have chance to resolve your problems. The only time when its a bad day is when you lose your life and for everyone else who have lost you. That's the only time when it's a bad day.........

There are so many people saying virtually the same things. It's sad the girl lost her life, but you can see the skid marks coming into the oncoming lane. The guy they interviewed said she lost control of her car. Speed was definitely a factor and people need to drive responsibly. Responsible driving will cut down on these needless deaths.

It was also wet, so even if she were going the speed limit which is probably 55-65 it would have been easy to lose control if you had to swerve suddenly. She may not have been speeding. And nobody expects to suddenly on a highway run up on a stopped car. It’s easy to do.

I think they should start showing the bodies, not out of disrespect for the families, but shock drivers into paying attention to the road. I can't difinitively say what happened, but considering the circumstances, I would say driver distraction is a high probability. The truck being towed was not in line of traffic and a simple passing of a vehicle after slowing down should not have resulted in an out of control situation. I think new drivers are being cuddled into believing they are invincible.

Defective drivers more so than the roads…..speeding, distracted driving, driving under the influence, driving too fast for conditions, and just sheer stupidity. It wouldn’t matter if SH-105 was 2 lanes or 6 lanes, there would still be fatalities. There is a severe lack in defensive driving habits today, and a severe lack of interest in self preservation.

I hear what you're saying SuperAgentman007. You're probably right, but in this instance it wasn't a distracted trucker, it wasn't the truckers fault at all. But most will probably try to put the blame on him. If not, the insurance companies have this tactic now where they try to settle up with 50/50 blame saying they were both at fault. This happens more than you might think.
