That choking technique isn't really doing anything. You raced a whole lap, full tilt, with the power jet closed without lean-bogging or seizing the engine. Choking was not needed anyways since you were very rich on the other two jets.

Yeah probably not, it’s habit a lot of the time! The first lap though usually has the engine full of oil from the out lap/ rolling lap and if I was to open the power jet then it’s usually too rich! So just being cautious more than anything incase once the engine gets fully hot it seizes 😅 I have exhaust temp sensor on the dash also!

@@joemckernan59 I would be careful too with such a gem! I wasn't that careful with my Italsistems back in 94 though! We didn't temp the rotary valve engines back in the day, rarely used a tach.
