@@Burnes1970 I remember you driving the ‘88 I just couldn’t remember if you had driven BLU82 to park it or anything like that. I was REALLY trying to keep the miles off but I should have let you drive it anyway. Sorry about that bro! It was really amazing. Still is with a touch over 4k miles on it now. At least the last time I saw a pic of the odo!

You were the “Caretaker” of a lot of 928’s!

@@pcar928fan Yeah, that's how Porsche intended them to be. I've always loved them. Thanks for the videos, much appreciated.

I have a Blue (similar to your color) with bone white interior 1989 5 Speed S4 with 42K miles. I've owned it since 1996 (2nd owner). Mint condition but I need to replace bushings and shocks. Would love to service all the shift linkages (I was told these peices are plastic ?). Would love to find a 928 guy with in-depth experience that can fix bid the work without it costing me a fortune.

Where do you live? Perhaps I can help you find a mechanic in your area who can help?
@BizAutomation4U6 ай бұрын
That's part of my conundrum, because I live in southern California where billing rates are sky high... Depending on how much work I get done it might make sense to ship the car out of state.
@pcar928fan6 ай бұрын
@@BizAutomation4U I would call Mark and the guys at 928 International. They are a great source of parts and information! They can certainly give you some ideas on where to go. It won’t be cheap to fix any 928 these days so it probably won’t save you much to ship it. Great shop in Phoenix as well as several in Texas if you do choose to ship.

And you laughed at me when I told you I will sell my s4 (when done) for $80,000.00. You flat out laughed at me. Looks like these cars do get money.

Well, that was almost 8 years ago! Which in the used 928 market is more than a lifetime, so we will see when it is done what you get for it. Nothing up until about the last few years was even close to $100k unless it was a super low mile 5 speed GTS. If your S4 is an auto then I still hold it won’t get anything like $100k. If it is a 5speed…perhaps! We will just have to see how the market is doing when you are ready to sell it.

@@pcar928fan Right, understood…I was multitasking when I was watching this video. I’d humbly consider myself a Porsche guy, having had many of them over the past twenty years. It just rubs me the wrong way when I hear somebody buys and flips them for tens of thousands of dollars only to benefit financially from the brand reputation.
