BS on the barriers to entry excuse. It's a money grab and will harm the small paddle companies that provide good value and, in many cases, innovation. I care about approval now but if they do this then I will begin ignoring whether a paddle is approved. I am not paying $250+ for a paddle whose spin won't last a year.

I put the chances of Hayden and Pablo beating Ben the same as jimmy doing more pull up than me in fact, I’d even give Jimmy 4 pull-ups for every one he does and I’ll go singles and I also love when Jimmy makes predictions because he’s literally 99.9% wrong most of the time

Your knowledge of economics is rudimentary at best. Big paddle manufacturers such as Joola have a relationship with UPA. Squeezing the small producers limits your competition and allows you to raise prices.

The actual cost of manufacturing a pickleball paddle has not gone up 150% in the last 3 years, but the retail cost has gone up.

Raising the barrier to entry, is anti free market, anti capitalism, anti entrepeneurialism, and anti job creation! Joola, one of the largest brands, has recently had their paddles banned, due to failed testing, and is also notorius for quality control problems. It's not the smaller brands that are causing quality control problems, so why are the being blamed and punished? Is it ok with everyone, if families be allowed to make an honest living, through their blood, sweat and tears?

The solution should be to enter into contracts with the manufacturers that they cannot use the design for other companies, not to reduce the competition.
